Next vacancy bid won’t happen until they can count the number of FOs that will be CA qualified within 3mon time. If they can upgrade enough, my guess 30-65 minimum, then it will be worth it for them. They need CAs, period. They are not remotely concerned with FOs moving bases.

Yeah I don't think this is how it would work, they would probably leave you in class for whatever equipment you are in class for. At least that's what it seems they have been doing. So if you like being in the TC then maybe it's a good plan, otherwise get ready for 5 months in dallas

That’s fine I live here

Once your fed ride is complete, I’m not sure why anyone wouldn’t try to continually get displaced. Especially if you live in DFW.

I heard that they pulled people right out of training when they got displaced on this last one. If I start training on Monday and they run the bid on Tuesday do I have to finish all the training? Wouldn’t make a lot of sense since I was involuntarily displaced and am not seat locked because of it. Basically I had a class date set for E75 CA upgrade training, that last bid displaced me to CRJ CA. I guess time will tell I’m just curious how my training (April 1) can affect this next bid award. Appreciate any feedback or insight as always.

I've thought about this but once you get displaced to EMJ CA LGA it doesn't seem likely that you'll be displaced from that.

How can they not displace you if the displacement is off of seniority..

For example CRJ goes unfilled the displacement goes in seniority order based off of displacement preferences.

There for, they would have to displace you before displacing someone junior to you assuming LGA wasn’t higher in your displacement preferences.

That may be true. I saw people forced to continue their training when I was down there after the last vacancy. Does it suprise me that it's not standard across the board? No.

They displace by base and seat. So there would have to be a surplus of LGA CAs for a LGA CA to be displaced. That would pretty much require that no one bids out of LGA and senior FOs decide to go there. Seems unlikely to me.

I'll admit, I'm several months away from having to worry about this so I haven't looked into detail how displacement works but I thought you had to be displaced out of your position first. Anything else would be via vacancy which would incur a seat lock which would end the constant training shuffle game. Is it different than that? If it is, please spell it out so everyone knows. The more of a mess this becomes, the less likely the company will feel the need to do it.
