CBTs will help. I read the sections in the manual covered while doing CBTs before, and/or after.

I review call outs, precision approach & non-precision approaches etc.

I personally only need a couple of maybe 4-6 weeks to fully be fresh without feeling all sorts of pressure & heart burn to study, or the need to sacrifice family time to study. 3 weeks for me is cutting it close. 2 weeks and I’m sacrificing family time & calling out sick due to psychological needs & blood pressure & using that time wisely.

Best of luck.

Thank you for your service rev4life03.

They shouldn't be sending you to recurrent cold turkey. At the least they should give you a recencey of experience sim if you ask. That should be enough. Your're not expired on your check, but more training could be due if you never consolidated. It's a case by case thing that a training manager can help with. They have policies, but are not widely advertised. I don't want you to get lost in the shuffle and thrown into recurrent when you could have a "knock off the rust" sim afforded to you if you ask. It's not like you have been flying the plane for the past year. Congrats on OTS!

Thank you all for the responses! I’m not sure if it’s actually recurrent or not. My schedule has me doing 2 days of ground and then 3 sims. I’m assuming 2 of those is the MV/LOE. So it seems maybe the other is the spot sim?

They’re only giving me about 2 weeks before going back, I’m just nervous that won’t be enough time to be proficient again and don’t want to stain my record due to bad timing.

Recurrent is 3 days of sims these days. Mv/loe/eet
I'd request a warm-up sim

Sounds about right. Your just a 5-6 six digit trade number at the local farm elevator to be wagered for profit.

Continue to look out for your best interests. The org will not.
rev4life03 Within the Envoy MEC I believe ALPA has a military committee chair of some sort dedicated to “providing knowledge and informational assistance” to service members flying the line, getting orders, or returning from orders. These transition periods can be stressful. A lot of information can be provided through that channel. Will be worth your time.

I don’t have the information readily available. Maybe someone else can chime in.
