So 40 CA / 125 FO vacancies. Are those FO vacancies for guys returned from furlough or downgrades? Since 125 is so much less than 227ish (or whatever the final number was.... too many) second round of furloughs on the horizon?

They have to fill unfilled FO vacancies with recalls.

Furloughs again? Doubtful, but maybe. Honestly seems like a flip of the coin these days. I genuinely can’t see us furloughing pilots though while PSA is bringing new guys on property, and LCC’s are starting to hire again.

I thought PSA had over 700 pilots on furlough? I’m still curious to why the sudden new hire announcement. YX going all in on LGA is another head scratcher. We shall have answers in time I guess.

Remember when ORD was the future of the 175? Pepperidge Farm remembers.
Now the question is how long until the mass exodus to DFW and MIA can be absorbed.

The one day in office approval flash poll is/was:

Biden 48%
Trump 56%
Obama 67%

The first day is the Honeymoon phase, it is all downhill from there for most all Presidents.

It seems to me that if they want to furlough on APR01 they’ll need to send out WARN letters next week at the latest. I’m not 100% certain, but I’m pretty sure that the old letters have expired and since everyone has been recalled (whether or not they are in training), they would have to re-furlough so... new letters.
If we get to this time next week with no letters... no furlough APR01.

That is my understanding as well... no WARN by 31Jan, no 01Apr furlough. My question is more surrounding accounting for the 100 or so pilot difference between recalls and FO vacancies (I don’t have any knowledge of how many accepted recall). Maybe it doesn’t have any significance at all. Just curious. But as you said, we should know in the next week or so good or bad.

Weren’t there a bunch of unfilled DFW 175 FO slots on the last bid? Some of the furloughs have already been slotted for training (in March...I think), so they must already have a “next status”. I don’t know if that would account for all of the “missing” vacancies, but it could account for some of them.

On the other hand, this is pure speculation. I have no inside information to back it up.

All the PSA guys were able to bid for new training classes when they were recalled, as opposed to envoy where we’ve got guys sitting on their hands with no idea when they’ll be recalled.
