Nothing against Atlas at all. It’s just surprising to see so many people give up on flow and a cemented slot at a legacy. They may know more about the future of American then we do.

For me, it would cement me at the bottom of a legacy seniority list, after the biggest hiring wave in history of the airline.

when I say you couldn’t pay me enough, I seriously mean it. But for those who can do it/want it, go for it. More power to you
The longer trips is better for some than others for sure, the layovers get better after COVID passes. Yeah they suck right now.

I am one that did give up flow from one of the other WO, I am not sweating it. Many ways to skin a cat.

But even in the mist of a contract battle, the work environment here at 5Y is no where near hostile like there were at my WO from the sounds of it Envoy also (constant battle with scheduling, fly it and grieve it none sense).

One the contract gets settled and it will. It might be even better. If not, Atlas will continue to still be a training academy for UPS and FedEx.

Horses for courses, as they say in the old blighty. I much prefer longer stretches of work, followed by more time off. Personal preference, neither is better or worse.

Or one man’s trash is another’s treasure.

If you have to commute, longer stretches make it more worthwhile.

it would be amazing to fly a 7-4 around the world, I get that. But the schedule is something myself or my family can’t do. The place is like all others, pros and cons.
I've had 8 days off every single month since IOE that I've worked at Envoy. Sounds like an improvement to me

It sounds like that individual is pretty bad at bidding. One of our former LCA’s went over there last year. He bids a 60 day line and never goes out for for more than 10 days at a time and then comes back home for at least a week at a time. Apparently the 767 has even more gentlemanly schedules with many lines being one week on one week off.

Hmmm, that depends on the line. I have a 60 day that covered May and June where I started with 5 off 7 on 8 off 13 on with a training event (this stretch was only longer due to me trying to consolidate otherwise it would have been shorter with some more days at home) followed by 10 days off 15 on finish the month of June with 3 off.

I say your biddies are not bidding correctly or not bidding at all....
