If the cadet was smart, he/she may call in to figure out how many cadets are in the class, if the odds are not favorable, move back a class or two.

Normally you never sacrifice seniority, but being seat locked unless you upgrade doesn’t make the seniority list carry the weight it should. This sounds like your seniority at new hire class jeopardizes your entire QOL at Envoy. It shouldn’t work like that.

That’s the way it is anywhere. You could be hired at a mainline and it was a crap shoot as to what airframes and bases are available. Wide body international and maybe live in base or narrow body and have to commute.

I’d give even money that anyone getting placed on the 145 right now will get displaced off by the time a “typical” 24mo seatlock would be up anyway. They are staffing it to meet current demand, but the fleet is generally slated to shrink.

Except those senior to them will PDIS over them and go to the heavy leaving them cadets to suffer longer on the 145. It’s a beautiful system.
