fly with some new hire FOs fresh off IOE. Airmanship standards are way down.

It's not the new hire's faults tho, our training program is a joke.

Does a new hire bid on their aircraft choice or is this decided by the company?

You bid from what is available. Lately has been all 175, choice of DFW or MIA. That being said, there MAY be changes coming depending if these latest pay/contract changes can do anything with retention.

Questions on Bonus/Pay/Sick/Commuting

Hey guys, much like a previous regional pilot asking about payouts, I already planned to speak with a recruiter to confirm pay.

To give you guys an idea of turnaround time on application to CJO, I'm a 175 guy that's been in the regionals for 4 years and I have about 1700hrs in type and 3300hrs TT. In less than 18 hours after application submission I had a CJO. No interview necessary.

I'm currently trying to find as much info as I can before I sign on the dotted line and completely upend my life for more money (but 3x as much money with a newborn at home is impossible to ignore).

I was told that with my experience I'm looking at 157.50/hr. Training pay would be that rate at 64hrs. I'm hoping to get ORD on the 175, but it sounds like ORD is harder to get. I was told to anticipate a forced upgrade within my first bidding cycle off of FO OE - I'm OK with that as long as I'm in the 175.

Questions: how do you guys bid currently at Envoy and what kind of ****ty reserve schedule should I anticipate off of OE?

How many sick calls do you get? Do you need a doctor's note to not get dinged with an occurrence?

Any commuting safeguards if you can't get to your base? I've never had to commute, so any info in this area is beneficial.

Lastly, I realize it's a regional and regionals are not really anyone's end goals, but how is the culture? Are people miserable? Is it improving with the announcement of these new pay rates? Oh, and is training considered difficult or easy? Are CKAs looking to fail or pass you?

Thanks in advance.

Why would you not go direct to AA? Why Envoy?

Why would I not want to quadruple my income doing the same job when I don't currently have a CJO from mainline? That's the better question.

Call Back Time Frame

Like the other guy here, I put my application in a couple weeks ago and haven't received a call. I exceed the requirements by a significant margin and have been receiving quick call back from other regionals (like a few hours). Anyone know what's up?

If you currently fly for any regional that operates any Eagle flights, don’t expect a call. (SkyWest, Republic, Mesa). The plan is to keep Eagle flights staffed and operating. Hiring from those regionals would jeopardize that performance (even though those airlines do fly for other carriers). Once AA can fully staff their WO then they can start taking planes away from OO, YX, & Mesa and bring them under the W/O carriers (and at that time, hire from those airlines).
