The Piedmont thread says each bonus comes with a 36 month commitment unless you flow to or get hired by American, but the terms are not cumulative. Generally all or part of the bonus will need to be repaid if you leave early, and they don’t care that taxes took a chunk out of the total. Read the agreement when you get it, you don’t have to sign it or take the bonus. With military time you could most likely get to a legacy within a year.

Thank you very much. I was told that there are FO slots available for ORD every class drop - just not nearly as many as DFW/MIA. I was told to expect a forced upgrade within the first bidding cycle.

Also, just talked to a couple of recruiters. They're actually starting me at 5 year CA pay of because I've completed 4 years at my regional and I'm in my 5th year. I'm also looking at around 62k in bonuses year 1 due to being over 950 hours in the 121 world. Absolutely nuts. This is going to be game changing for the entire industry.

And to the dude above that thought I might've had my application already on file? I didn't. Just called a recruiter, told him my experience, applied, and had a CJO in my inbox about 16hrs later. The shortage is real. Can't wait to start!

You only have to read the class drop thread to see that this is a lie.
They also haven't force upgraded anyone in years. And if they do, you will be the bottom 145 CA for a long time. Don't expect an upgrade to 175 like that.

Anyplace you go and use their ATP program will have a contract and require a repayment if you leave right away. Most places one year at least. They tend to leave out the less glorious details on the websites.

As far a EQUIPMENT lock, IF Envoy starts hiring into the 145 again, as an FO you are locked unless you get displaced out of the plane or upgrade. Not locked to a base.

Hasn’t been ANY openings at ORD for a while. You need to read a few pages of the other threads. There is literally NO WAY of knowing what will happen in the near future here. If Envoy is successful in bringing in and keeping pilots, the 145 may not go away as fast as been saying. If it stays around it will remain an orphan and the junior plane in the fleet.

With pay and bonuses what they are, many FOs will chose to wait to upgrade for QOL. This is likely going to start causing forced upgrades to the junior qualified FOs. There are just too many unknowns to know if that will be in the 145 or not, but my money says this has breathed a little bit of life support into it and will only prolong the agony of those in the wrong spot on the seniority list.

Understood. So may be best to pay for the ATP instead of being locked for an extended period. Have the TT and PIC for major/legacies just not the recency (and ATP). Thanks for the info!

shrsailplanes 06-17-2022 10:05 AM

3500hrs TT
1700hrs ERJ175
300hrs CE680
no failures
no criminal background or DUI’s
no LOR’s
no degree

any chance of getting in? How long to get MIA as an FO out CA?

was there a CBA change in there to allow them to hire people at different pay steps based upon years of 121 experience, or are the recruiters inventing stuff again?

Yes there was, but only if every senior pilot on lower rate gets promoted too so it would be expensive to do so.

Man, this is exciting. Thanks Isom. Maybe I'll finally stop getting juniormanned twice a month like clockwork.
