Looking for some career advice. I received a CJO with no prior 121 experience in June, completed ATP-CTP, and was slotted for a July orientation before being told it was cancelled. I know the company is prioritizing prior 121 pilots, and I'm curious if it's worth waiting for Envoy to call.
I was told I could probably expect to wait until the end of the year. I also have an offer from Skywest with a possible September start date. Do you guys think it's worth waiting for Envoy without any certainty of a start date or would you take the sure thing at Skywest? Short term goal is securing a Chicago base, longer term I'm trying to get to any of the legacy carriers. Thanks |

Mesa. 100/hr 76 hour guarantee. In training.

Mesa unfortunately is a nonstarter due to their base offerings. I will likely pursue Skywest hoping their pay comes up significantly from the $60 proposed in the latest TA. If not, I will probably try to hop back to Envoy at the first chance I get.
Does anybody know if leaving during any part of training would be a career limiting move? I've heard airlines will assume you washed out out of training even if you leave voluntarily, but I'd be happy to hear otherwise. |

In a few years time, you might be wishing you had done differently when you can't get a bite from any of the majors and are stuck working at a second or third tier cargo operator. Yea, don't do that. It'll look like you washed out or were asked to resign for less than stellar reasons. If you think you are going to bail, don't ever start.

Yes, because when Delta and United are hiring people whose only 121 time comes from turboprops with Cape Air, a third tier cargo pilot is going to struggle...

Yep the good times never end. Spend your WB CA money now. This industry is always consistent and predictable.Just ask all those 1999 Eagle guys who were hearing all the same things when they got hired (Pilot shortage, immediate upgrades, mainline in just a few years).
