Upgrade and DFW based probably immediately.

Hold a line? Possibly a couple of years. All of the current FO’s on property will be senior to you when they upgrade. If enough Direct Entry Captains (DEC’s) are hired behind you, you may see a line sooner, but you shouldn’t count on it. I’m prepared to be on reserve for a long time. It is what it is.

What about having a TON of 135 time?

So do I understand it right? If I have 10+ years of 121 experience, they'd start me at 10 year CA pay ($180ish/hr)?

depends. Short answer - if it required ATP (by the regs, not argus/wyvern) then probably good, if it didn't then no-one cares. I.e. right seat in a GIV counts about as much as 172 time.

Yeah, that's like how 135 turbine PIC only counts in the same airplane under certain configurations. It is what it is.

Are all newhire pilots with at least 1000 hours 121 forced into upgrade? And regardless of recency?
I have been in the business aviation side for some time (but have plenty of 121 time including PIC in the E175) and am just looking to get through training, knock off the 121 rust in the right seat before upgrading. Hell, if I really had the choice, I'd rather just park myself in the right seat, sling gear and flaps, and sip on my coffee at CA pay. I certainly could care less about TPIC at this point. Money and QoL/sked mean more to me than a logbook entry. But how's the "forced upgrade" situation these days?

Yes, this site shows all of that. https://red-flower-0c5c2520f.1.azurestaticapps.net/
A recruiter can also confirm years count for everything but seniority. They claim you can bid FO and still be paid as a Captain for up to 18 months but I don't really know if that will be true or not based on people bypassing upgrade for quality of life.

I was one of the lucky ones that got a CJO without having to interview based on my 121 TT. Scheduled to fly down at the end of the week for background check and logbook verification. Anyone got any info on what to expect out of the day? Are people suiting up for that or just business/business casual dress?

Pretty easy day. A few people wore suits, a few wore business casual. The recruiter told me to just wear business casual. They bring you into a conference room when you get there, and give a presentation. After that you start one on one with a recruiter for paperwork. The paperwork takes a while, but they feed you a really early lunch during that. Logbook review is straight forward. Then they send you downstairs to do drug test and fingerprints. Overall is really relaxed and easy. We were done by 11 or so. Then you wait a couple weeks to see what they offer as far as an orientation date.
