Orientation seniority

I received travel plans the day before I departed. Prior groups got Indoc dates at Orientation, we were told what dates to expect and I received confirmation of mine a week later. Envoy isn’t scheduling months out like everyone else.

The next Orientation date is April 13th. If you are on their firm list for this date you can expect to hear more by email on March 30th. I have heard of some cadets receiving less than two weeks notice, so it is possible Envoy will offer this date to more pilots closer in as they finalize numbers and plans. They are probably still prioritizing prior Part 121 pilots and hoping to fit in others too, maybe they discovered their hiring pool mostly went elsewhere and are now replacing them. If you are in their hiring pool and can accept less than two weeks notice, I would email your recruiters and remind them after March 30th. I would guess the May Orientation date will be May 11th or 18th since it is always on a Thursday.

As a pilot you are always going to be a number to your employer, they may expect loyalty but they won’t give you loyalty in return and they don’t care about what is fair. Until you are actually in Orientation you don’t have a firm spot on Envoy’s training list or pilot seniority list. The good thing is that with Envoy’s orientation system they start paying you up to six weeks before you actually start ground school.

So to be clear, your seniority number starts from orientation and not indoc?

Orientation - welcome to the company.. generic pay, benefits, etc

Indoc - the rules we operate under

My timeline for those who are interested:

Interviewed late April, got a CJO a week later

ATP/CTP 5/15

Orientation date 5/23 (there were 44 of us)

Indoc class dates offered to our class were 6/12, 6/26, 07/10. The last 4 in our class got 7/10.

Thank you to all in this forum who answered my questions, hope this helps for those who were wondering the same things I was.

FO. Non envoy cadet or previous 121 time. Hiring is def picking back up and they maybe back to taking more low time FOs. Thats a good sign, I hope it stays this way.

I assume you have Jet time based on your Profile? Part 135?

Cadet program

6 years ago in my new hire class, there was a decent amount of cadets for the cadet program. Do the cadets build seniority while they build flight time at a partner flight school?

No, they don't build seniority.
The only thing they build is company longevity, which lets them get to more vacation accrual sooner, but, if I recall correctly, that's the only thing it does.

The cadets get the highest seniority within their Orientation class in addition to longevity. That will gain them 30-60 seniority numbers and a sooner Indoc date.

I guess. Used to be a bigger deal when the select few went to E175 and the rest were shipped off to 145 in LGA

Hiring Process

I had my interview with Envoy for FO position on June 6th and I was given a pre-employment offer letter. Since then I haven't heard back from them. I doubled checked with the school where I used to work and they have already sent all the required PRIA forms to Envoy.
There was one more guy with me at the interview and he received his CJO a week after. I tried contacting the pilot recruiting team and they just told me its in the review process..
I am starting to get worried now because its been three weeks. Anybody else experienced something like this with Envoy?

Question, I'm currently scheduled for Orientation August 3rd. Trying to figure out if its okay to continue working at my current job until INDOC date or do I leave my Part 91 job prior to orientation. Anyone have anything on this?
