The 4/7 class officially has started the pull of OTS from the 2024 canceled classes. The OTS who were called are being called by the orientation group (May>June>July>those without an orientation) then by age oldest to youngest of those groups. There does seem to still be a decent flow of cadets in the classes and priority will remain for them.

Rough estimation on classes starting (expect an email a month out from class): May cancelled orientation should be finished up by the end of April/May. June cancelled class should expect to start late May into June. July classes after that. All are rough/conservative estimates and could change depending on if class sizes get larger/smaller and dependent on how many cadets finish their hours in the meantime. Training does typically slow down in the fall as the busy season slows but Envoy is wanting to hire close to 500-600 pilots this year and to do that classes most likely will run throughout the year to meet that goal. As of right now class sizes have varied between 20-35/class running every two weeks and to meet their goal these numbers will most likely not change.

I have heard that OTS interviews are starting back as well in the upcoming weeks if they havent already started. So those looking with no 121 experience will most likely need ATP/CTP course completed to be competitive as Envoy does not pay for it for OTS hires anymore. I expect 121 experience will be perfered so those looking to come over should expect classes this fall after completing the interview process.

Can confirm OTS interviews have begun. One of my former students interviewed last week and is waiting for a class date.

The news we've all been waiting to hear for months... Good luck everyone. May your email refresh button bring you good fortune.

Hey this is all great gouge, but any chance you could tell us where you're getting your information? All your posts seem to have way more information than the folks in Class Prep give. Also, did you get the call? I think you said you were May orientation?

And to everyone who keeps saying "cadet pool is dried up" or "looks like cadet pool will be empty soon"... ya the cadets are never going to "dry up." Seems pretty clear that cadets are the way of the future at airlines and that flow is never going to stop. Even at SWA, whom I am also waiting for a class date from, the only people who have seen a new-hire classroom in over a year at this point are.. D225 cadets.

A good reporter never gives up their inside source! I'm just happy that the muddiness of the near future is a little less muddy.

So, has anyone here from the OTS pop received an email for 4/7 class?

Redwood19 03-07-2025 02:34 PM

Yes and yes

Congrats! Wish you best of luck on the training. When did you pass CRB, if I may ask?

Quick question: does anyone know what's fueling Envoy to hire 600 pilots? I understand that most of it is the flow to American, so what's fueling that flow on American's side? Is it retirements, growth...? Delta/United announced yesterday that they will cut some of their summer flying for various reasons. If American decides to do the same, how will that affect the flow and subsequent hiring/classes at Envoy?

Granted, Delta/United CEOs said they felt confident that Q1's performance and consumer confidence are temporary and are not omens of what is coming, but still raises some concerns about slowdowns across the industry.

AA has some crazy retirment numbers. Also, AA is growing heavily in ORD, and taking over Air Wisconsin flying. It has prompted lots of growth for MQ. The airlines are happy to see oil prices falling as well.
