Hiring
Is it safe to assume that hiring is currently on hold/pause? SF (Spirit Furloughed)

Rumor has it Envoy has been steadily recruiting over the last year despite the long pause in training dates. There is now a large CJO pool and no one knows how many people are still waiting and how many people have gone elsewhere.
Today a class of 22 new hire pilots started at Envoy and were all assigned ORD. I believe this was the first class since early July. The next class is December 2nd and the pilots in that class have been notified. Envoy plans to hire 600 pilots in 2025. In good times, Envoy starts a new Indoc class every two weeks. There might be a pause in December due to the holidays but I would expect training to pick up quickly in January. The problem is we don't know how long the wait will be for training classes because we don't know how many people are still waiting in the CJO pool. They don't plan class sizes very far ahead either. I think they have been assigning class dates about 4 weeks out lately. They won't start more pilots than they can get through sim training with minimal delays. Expect to finish training within 2-3 months. I would recommend applying to as many pilot jobs as you qualify for and take the first class date. Good luck. |

At this time, Envoy is working to get all of their cadets processed and into classes as hiring is picking up. I have heard that the December 16th class date has now been fully filled. Envoy expects to continue classes early next year, but there has been not yet been a specified next class date after the one beginning December 16th. When it comes to cadet instructors who are waiting to transition to first officer, Envoy has called them on super-short notice prior to the slow-down in hiring this summer. I can confirm that calls on short-notice have returned and some cadets who have had to wait upwards of six months for a class date after reaching ATP minimums have recently been assigned the December 16th class date.

Cadet and have been waiting for 6 months, still no word on my end. Hopefully soon. Really just seems to be random pulls from the cadet pool.

There have been 3 class dates so far already filled: 11/18, 12/2, and 12/16. All cadets that had classes and got canceled seem to have a date. They are now giving classes to cadets who hit mins around the April, May, June region.

All of the 11/18 class were cadets, the majority of whom were onboarded as cadets early-mid 2023. Class dates are being assigned NOT according to when someone achieved their minimums, but rather by when they were onboarded as a recruit. The majority of the 11/18 class were cadets who were scheduled in the May and June classes earlier this year and got canceled.
12/2 class members received their invitations a couple weeks ago. 12/16 class members received their invitations this past Monday. |
Just to give everyone an idea thats not a cadet, I applied back in April 2024, received a CJO before leaving the interview. Im an off the street candidate. I had all minimums atpctp, atp written done. I have only heard so far, that they will call me and email me when they are ready to bring me in to an indoc/training etc.
