Data point on the April 21st class:
The class size is 38, which is the largest class yet. Bases that were offered were: DFW (21), MIA (10), ORD (5), and PHX (2). Of the 38, 10 were cadets and the rest were OTS hires from May and June orientations from last year.
Management gave strong indications that hiring and classes will continue despite the hit on the industry. Envoy is getting 12 (maybe) new airplanes this year and more next year. As AA has rolled back summer routes and envoy is taking over their routes (smaller airplanes for smaller demand). They said they hope to still hire 600 pilots but aren't sure if they'll hit that number. Our class puts them just over the 200 hire mark.

Does anyone know if bases are awarded according to "Age" i.e older folks get first pick?

My CJO was rescinded this week, was hired as DEC last April and originally slated for the June 6 (2024) class. Reason given was that 12 months has gone past and I’ve not been placed in a class.
oh well.

I just got called for the June 2 class.
I interviewed Mid October.
They sent an email asking my to reply if I was still interested in coming aboard and included a phone number for me to call.
I called and they gave me the date.

This is because you delayed or they didn’t place you in a class. If it’s the later, I say WTF?!?

I did not delay - they called me in Feb asking if I’m still interested and I said yes, they told me end of Q1 or beginning Q2 for a class date. I’ve heard nothing since until the email rescinding the CJO. As I said, oh well, I’ve found something else and am happy where I am now. This is merely to give a data point. I’m guessing any DECs are being slow rolled until 12 months so they can rescind and have you reapply as an FO. But who knows.
