Data point on the April 21st class:

The class size is 38, which is the largest class yet. Bases that were offered were: DFW (21), MIA (10), ORD (5), and PHX (2). Of the 38, 10 were cadets and the rest were OTS hires from May and June orientations from last year.

Management gave strong indications that hiring and classes will continue despite the hit on the industry. Envoy is getting 12 (maybe) new airplanes this year and more next year. As AA has rolled back summer routes and envoy is taking over their routes (smaller airplanes for smaller demand). They said they hope to still hire 600 pilots but aren't sure if they'll hit that number. Our class puts them just over the 200 hire mark.

Thank you. Invaluable information for us waiting on something. Wishing you the very best on your journey!

Keeping my fingers crossed for a call.

You're the MVP! Good luck with class!

when it comes to bidding bases, do the cadets get priority over the OTS, or is it age based once you get into class? curious how that shakes out

In our class, they gave us assigned seats based on seniority. The closer to the front (and left) you were, the more senior you were. All cadets were in the front row, and after that, I believe it went based on age, not hire date. I was more senior than some people who were in the canceled May orientation.

For bidding, they do it in the first 20-40 minutes of showing up on property. It's the first thing you do basically so you'll know where you're going immediately.

I ran into a guy from the first April class, and it seems they're calling people based on age. He said the youngest in his class was 27-25 range. My class, the youngest I've talked to is 22. Him and I think age might have something to do with getting a call, but we're not sure.

Good info. I am not a cadet, but I am old AF, so it would stand to reason I will be nearer the front half. Fingers crossed they don’t fill up DFW too quickly! lol

How long did it take for them to offer an interview since you applied through Airline Apps?
