If Envoy was the only American regional, I do not think they would be in this position, ie they would have much more leverage.

Flow is a management tool to ensure retention at a regional airline. Pilots working for an airline without flow stand a better chance at being hired at one of the 3 legacy airlines. A pilot working for a regional with a flow realistically only stands a chance of being hired on with the "other" two legacy airlines unless he or she can afford to wait in a very long line.

Your first sentence makes sense and is obviously correct. The rest is absolutely ridiculous. Envoy and Piedmont pilots are being hired EVERY WHERE.

Hahahah yes that makes no sense at all. We are still losing people to other Majors and other regionals. While leaving for another regional has now slowed down.j Having a flow does something good. Are Piedmont Pilots GUARANTEED jobs or interviews at Delta or United? I've flown with a few that don't have American as there first choice. But lets say you get a interview with Delta or United and don't get hired by those two. Remember you're not guaranteed to get hired. So guess what now you have American as the Ace in your hand. It's a win win! Hell maybe you got a better chance of getting hired as a Delta/United guy over one of there own express people. I remember when WO'ed pilots had no chance at US Airways over the Contract pilots. That really sucked for the WO'ed folks. Flow is a win/win. Take it or leave it. |

Maybe to fix that you give everyone at the American WO'ed an actually Number. Then it's fix and you retain everyone at your feed.
