The only highlight of New York closing is you don't have a vote anymore!!!!

Don't forget PBS. Less bodies will be needed, but that should offset with the retirements. Unless they have found the fountain of youth!

Good Luck!

What part of New York is closing? I have some good friends in New York and they haven't said anything about a base closing. Does this involve mainline?

Parker said himself 2-4% growth next year at the town hall meeting 8-20-15. If you watch the video its in section 15.

Oh, BTW for those at Envoy... watch your Today@Envoy emails for a good announcement today.

No, the Envoy/Eagle base is closing.

Let me guess... It's about the free ipads we should've been given in the first place?

No, they want to roll those out at all AAG carriers at once. So, we're stuck waiting for PSA, PDT and even AA to catch up. AA still carries enroute charts and some company pages.

Not waiting on us. We've been approved for months.

Envoy to operate Embraer 140s through August 2016

Dear Envoy team –

I’m pleased to share an update to American’s operating plan that will keep more flying at Envoy.

Previously, American’s plan was to phase out Envoy’s Embraer 140 (E140) flying in early January. American has updated that plan and advised us that they would like Envoy to continue flying 10 of the E140 aircraft into next year. These aircraft will then progressively retire between January and August 2016.

This news is more significant than the extension of a number of airplanes. For the first time since AMR’s 2012 bankruptcy filing, Envoy’s net fleet count will remain stable between January and August 2016.

This is great news for all Envoy employees, and underscores the positive trends happening all across our company. We have been able to perform additional flying for American in several locations, our dependability and reliability is improving and we do all of this with the highest degree of safety. For our pilots, this incremental E140 flying supports approximately 50 ERJ Captain positions that previously were not needed in the first half of 2016. Combined with the expected flow-through to American, this will result in long-awaited career progression for our First Officers.

There is a building excitement at Envoy as we prepare for the arrival of the first new Embraer 175 (E175) aircraft in November. We are hiring pilots, flight attendants, mechanics and ground employees to support a successful large RJ operation, and training is already underway to ensure we’re ready to introduce the E175 into revenue service in February 2016.

This additional flying is a testament to the outstanding service that Envoy provides to American. Thank you for helping to earn that business – and for all you do for our customers and each other.

Opinion rant.... If shrinking stops, they must replace each CA that flows or leaves. Add in the 2 jets from storage doing DCA flying and the 6-10 being discussed for MIA flying and it's begining to look like the shrinking is done long enough for the E175's to now become replacement jets instead of the original plan of them being growth jets after we shrank to 110ish jets.
