What would you recommend as an aircraft to bid for if we want to try and eventually shift to LA if it re-opens?
Good question.... hopefully some union guy on here can give you some info. I haven't heard any rumors about what air craft would be in LA.

It's not a flying job. It's slinging a fuel hose at the airport so the down time is pretty much a guarantee.

It depends on the state you live in and such. However my 2500 quarterly bonus ends up around 1550 so a 20k bonus for me would be 12500 if then percentage stays the same. I'd expect to get a lot back come tax season though.

My 15k NH bonus was just over 11k in the bank. My $2500 quarterly last month was 1750 in the bank. Single in TX with minimum exemptions.

Ok. I will be living in MN and their state income tax is about 7% so I guess I just add that to the federal income tax taken out?

L.A. Is not even on the radar right now(or should it be, we do 0 flying there). LGA just opened. And the last letter from union, said maybe Miami by the end of next year.

Bonuses are taxed at the rate of 25%. For income above $37k (single filer) that is what it is taxed at anyway. For income below that it's taxed at 15%. So it's possible come tax time you might get a little more back when you file.

Example, you earn $25,000 in wages plus that $20k bonus.

The first $9200 is taxed at 10%, then from $9200-$37,000 it's taxed at 15%. Above that it's taxed at 25%. So you'd only pay the 25% tax on $8000. You'd pay 15% tax on $12,000.

This is all federal. State might be a little different as far as the brackets go.

IF LAX re opens as a base for Envoy I would guess that it would be for the 175. Compass currently is doing flying for AA in planes that are owned by AA. Those 20 hills could easily be transferred to Envoy. I mean hell those 20 were slated for Envoy originally. But this is just a guess. You can count on whatever aircraft you get, something else will go to LA.
