...as honorable as that sounds, I do not recommend it! let that go and focus on your new career. get ahead of the game by reading your AOM v1, memory items, and profiles. the more you pound this in your head, the easier it will be during your oral, and sim sessions.

maybe it's just me, but I stayed in the training hotel my entire time i was in training. I spent the weekends during the day rereading my notes, memory items and profiles. spent the evenings just relaxing. it's all up to you how you manage your free time!

enjoy

Thank you for the advice. Anything to make training more enjoyable versus stressful would be nice.

Default monthly pay

Interviewed last week and I'm expecting to receive an offer once the background check and board review is done. Forgive me if this has already been addressed, but if I accept the offer I'll be taking about a 20k pay cut and right now I'm trying to figure out how that would look every month. I have no airline experience just corporate so I know on the 1st and 15th exactly what will be deposited in my account and that number is the same all year.

What would be a good figure to expect for monthly earnings, with per diem and whatever else is included? Thanks in advance

Around 800 dollars middle of the month paycheck for a single pilot in illinois. End of month will be 800 plus any per diem, I'd say average around 200 hours mine is less but I try to not work, and plus any overtime or over gurantee you did the previous month. So with just regular reserve and nothing extra probably 1150ish

Well, it all depends on what deductions you take out. Single? Married? 401k? Insurance? Dependent care? Ltd? Calculate guarantee add 250 at 1.85 for per diem and you get your base salary.

Married two kids.... the guy above numbers were close to mine with out OT. But that's not to say yours would be more or less.

Does that include the bonuses or purely base pay?

I used to have a 0430 show time, get out of the sim at 1030, change clothes in the car, then go to my other job until 1930. Would study my profiles before going in the sim, before going to bed, and when sitting on the can. $800 every other week is poverty wages, and not enough to provide well for your family. Sometimes, you gotta do what you gotta do. Would definitely advise against outside flying, however.

The company makes that decision easy for you by prohibiting any outside flying for compensation. Like others note, it behooves you to study limitations, memory items, and flows for whatever airframe you get as soon as you get access to manuals.

As for LA opening up is all up to AAG. I know Envoy CEO wants it but it's not really up to us.
For guys who are interviewing or classing up now... but live in LA now...

What would you recommend as an aircraft to bid for if we want to try and eventually shift to LA if it re-opens?
