"SPDA1 or SPDA2 generates CAS advisory message LOAD SHED if one of the following conditions
exist:
• AC Generator capability is reduced to only one source (only one IDG or APU generator) while in
the air mode.
• One AC Generator is sensed as supplying greater than the full load rating, regardless of air/
ground mode and AC Generator capability.
(3) An IDG or APU GEN overload is defined as follows:
• Phase A, B, or C current is between 116 and 130 A for 2.5 min.
• Phase A, B, or C current is between 130 and 174 A for 2.5 s.
(4) CAS advisory message LOAD SHED is reset when the above conditions no longer exist.
(5) CAS advisory message LOAD SHED is inhibited during takeoff, landing, or while in flight"

While that may be what most do, that’s not what is supposed to be done. Supposed to single engine taxi with APU shut down until necessary. The 175 does just fine keeping the temp comfortable on one bleed source. The mantra on the 145 was don’t turn the APU on at all because they were leased and it needed all the help it could get with keeping things comfortable.

I’ve only ever done this in really extreme weather conditions. 90% of the time the PACKs work just fine (even in one engine).

Look, it's not that hard and as a CA you should know how long it will take you to taxi to the gate. Shut it down after cool down and wait to start the APU until you get within throwing distance to the gate. It spins up so quick it will be up and running by the time you set the brake.
