I think he’s trying to say that AAG just saved $120-$150 million on six airplanes, placed them with a decent operator (as opposed to the non-union kool-aide drinkers) and still pulls revenue out of them. This was a business decision and AAG does what’s best for business. Does it look bad when we have 227 on the street, PSA has 750 on the street, and AAG signs new deals with YV, YX and OO? Yup. It make us look like bastard children, but it’s all business. AAG can say how much they value their employees all they want. In the end, they value their shareholders and the money that they bring. In six months they’ll throw some sweet luggage works bags our way and we’ll all forget.

Now let’s do some simple math. 120/30=4 as in 4 DAYS is what that deal just saved American in cash burn.
You toss out the word Kool-aide drinker and then proceed to drink a whole gallon of American “kool-aide.

Exactly. It sucks. But I don't think AAG really had a choice.

Unfortunately that’s most likely the only game in town. It’s going to be a long recovery. Several years before profits again. Loads are not picking up from what was previously projected, but what’s really bad are the yields. Fares are very low, travel is a real bargain now. This industry doesn’t work off the flip of a switch. Selling off assets for cash that will burn out in 4-5 days is not a solution. It’s actually an unfortunate decision by American’s Management that shows they’re not preparing to settle for chapter 11. It’s becoming more clear they’re betting the house, and if a fast recovery doesn’t occur, chapter 7 will be the final result.
