Now today we get retention bonus and higher new hire bonus for 121 pilots. Very recently they weren't willing to give us anything, kept saying flow was enough.

Seems maybe they could be unsure of keeping all those aircraft with RAH in bankruptcy, and anticipate moving some back here. (Why else would they finally give in)? Just a thought..

The issue of retaining extra FOs all of a sudden became a pressing issue. Follow the bouncing ball....you are on the right track.

So a retention bonus for FOs, nothing for the captains that scraped by on crap wages for 10+ years waiting to upgrade. Classy move AA

A person that I would consider to be "in the know" told me that Republic's 175 flying would likely start coming to Envoy in 16/17. This would seem to be a big indicator that they may have been correct.

And I thought PSAs union made some crap deals.

They don't have a captain retention problem. It's a business decision. They're not doing it to be nice.

9E you have to take AND pass interview with Delta, no such thing with AA WOs, just show up to class. Right now, flow is 16 years, but is not linear. So this time next year it might be a 12 year flow.

Why would you put all your eggs into one basket if your at a AA WO? It's a solid backup, but if you wait 16 or 12 years to flow, you've already missed the wave.

As a Captain here, I agree. We definitely should get some retention $$$ too. I'm not holding my breath on that one.

BUT, I am happy the FO's will finally get something, because living on that FO pay for so long was a nightmare. This isn't as nice as Endeavors for sure, but we have a much better flow as well so it's a bit of a trade off. I suppose it's better than just another kick in the nuts that most of us were expecting. Probably just what they wanted, beat us down for so long, and anything extra sounds good. (lowered expectations).

Maybe we hold onto some FO's and get some more new hires now. Not really enough to hold onto anyone over a LCC or better, but may prevent laterals. It''s some extra cash in hand for those stuck here. Remember those upgrading soon get that other $7500 as well when their number comes up. I know it's not going to be all combined with the full retention $$, but it's something.

I really think this has something to do with the RAH AA flying. They aren't doing this for no reason all of a sudden.

The other $7500 gets paid on January 2017 regardless if they have upgraded by then or not. Good news all around.

Because barring an economic meltdown, it won't take 12 years.

$4,500 to the ones upgrading, not 7,500. And if we don't upgrade, in Jan 2017, they have to pay us the debt.
