Ignore the intimidating crap going on. I personally wouldnt want to be on plane your flying this week. Take care of yourself, they need you next week, trust me they need all of us.

As a 330 hour commercial pilot, I have no dog in this fight. I live in Wisconsin, so this will be a question I'll be asking in about a year or two. But in the mean time, I did just want to say something about the whole funeral thing. To the person who said you're a pilot and you're going to miss things, you're absolutely correct. "Things" being birthdays, anniversaries, dance recitals. Not funerals. I mean I'm in the military and I was excused TWICE within a month for two different funerals, three times within 6 months. No questions asked. Like I said. I have no dog in this fight, and I have absolutely zero experience with Envoy. But I'd like to think they'd be at least (if not more so) accommodating than the military....

Want something sobering, My Dads at United like 70% of Express jet pilots I can't pass the Hogan my interview ended there. Now they are barely hiring off the street because of the pref interviews and reduced hours.
My uncle's at Delta, I was told to get a master degree if I wanted an interview.
American is not going to hiring you off the street.
I'll most likely flow in 2019 the last 5 1/2 have extremely sucked at Eagle. In hindsight I made the right call. I want mainline.
6 job fairs 5000 hours, a public ivy college degree, and not a single Skelton in my closet. I volunteer one day a week, I'm in great health, i was student govt president at Rutgers and a great father.
I have 20 recs at United and 7 at Delta and 13 at American.
Stomach that when you pick an airline. I'd pick Envoy.
I'm going to make almost 80k this year as an fo. I hardly work.

How can you make 80K as an FO at envoy ? if the pay cap is 4yr FO $40 hr.
Yeah that is so true all you said, I truly believe its next to impossible to get hired at mainline without a LCA, Test Pilot, and 6 Moon Landings.

I think you have to have 3 shuttle landings on an aircraft carrier to get the call now.

Average 4-6 year fo pay has been about 50k, add in 10k bonus, I have 2 referrals so 10k more. Then 200% ot. I'm clearing 100 hours monthly.
Don't forget for fo we have min ot credit 3.54hr any day you have any ot your getting at least 3.54 straight pay. A Moline CDO as ot pays almost 8 hours. Milk the cow man.

What about the guys that never did the military ? What about Us are we out of luck for a Mainline career ? is the Flow the best bet ? Or should I go to Skywest Get TPIC and then put in my app along with other 10,000 applicants for a mainline ?

Forget being an FO or waiting for upgrade. This comment makes it clear that you're a natural choice for a direct-entry hire into a Chief Pilot position here at OO (or any regional.) You sound exactly like OO's chief pilot for LAX and FAT...and I do mean exactly. Combine that with a bad case of short-man syndrome and a physical inability to be separated from your hat, and you might actually be him!

You were a human being a long time before you were a pilot....you have to prioritize. my own experience at Envoy was pretty good, and they were quite accommodating for the few times I needed bereavement leave.....but that was then. I've heard that recently things have changed. Go into it with your eyes open and your priorities in order.
