Negative. I am just about to pass my 4-yr hire anniversary and I'm still 180 numbers from upgrade. I'll at best be a 4.5 year upgrade, which is still good, but more likely close to 5. The most recent upgrade was 5.5, if I recal.

I will say the times are coming down, but we're due another vacancy bid if that trend is to continue.

Last vacancy was spring I think March or maybe april 2011 so it's 5 years 8 months right now. And the Feb 2011 is the earliest in class so it's almost 6 years. Also alot of people have been passing up on upgrade.

We are going to take those reserve lines and those flights that those senior to us do not want and they will stop complaining because we will be doing it. They have earned that right because they were before us and we will earn it because of those that come behind us. I can't wait to complain with you. I haven't even made my mind up yet if I want to leave the regional to go to a legacy. I don't know what the future has in store for me and I've never known. The only thing I do know is that when I bring my positive attitude with me it seems infectious. I know we can make this place work. I know someone that's been flying the line for a year or two is probably going to disagree with this and I hope that you do because I'm going to listen to what you have to say. The more that you tell me things are bad just makes me want to work harder to make it good. Pedro is probably not in the position to make it any better but we pilots are. And I think the flight attendants are as well. We aren't slaves from 500 years ago and we aren't caught up in a situation where we can't simply walk away. It's a free country and you do not have to work at this place if you don't want to. I'm going to come there and I'm going to do my best. But I welcome any and all and every criticism of what I'm saying because if you offer information and insight into my upcoming world. I was never a ramp or, I work in an industry where I could make a lot of money and not ever go to work. I am choosing to do this because it's who I am. I can't escape it. I also interviewed at Republic and didn't get the "warm fuzzies". I think there are some people who left and regret it and I also think there are some first officers who have been at the company for two or three years and are very angry about the bonuses. If I had been hired on two years ago I would feel the exact same way. But it's those bonuses that are bringing the new people so that you can make captain a lot quicker. Everything in this world is timing and it's my time to come aboard. It's also MD-11's Time to come aboard. We are ready willing and able to spend our time in the barrel. It might be longer than those that came before us and it might be shorter . All we can do is bring a positive attitude and do our best every single flight, so that is what we will do .

Bring your positive attitude right on into Envoy amigo. In the beginning you will be filled with hope and optimistic thoughts. As you complete the training program, you will find that Envoy will crush your positive attitude. This my friend is what they are very good at. Selling you a wonderful ideas of the career where you upgrade in 2 years and then move to fly at American in 5 years.

Quickly you will find out that this is not happening. The person that is flowing this month was hired in October 2000. The upgrades right now are about 6 years. This my friend is what you call a 6 year upgrade and 16 years flow. Think about it. Skywest has much too offer you in terms of keeping you away from this pilot eating machine of Envoy.

What you guys have to realize is that we are completely capable of having a happy family life (on the rare occasion that we are actually at home), performing our jobs well, enjoying many aspects of our jobs, and still fighting to make things better for ourselves and coworkers, so we can see our families like we used to. They forced us to take concessions during a period of the largest profits ever seen by any airline, and followed that up by degrading quality of life to the worst we've ever seen it. Even those with the most positive attitude would have trouble justifying that. And anyone with a spine would stand up for themselves, even if they also enjoy coming to work.

It's amusing that you think JMs are the exclusive domain of the new/junior. You will JMed long after six months, believe me.

I had a scheduler tell me one morning that he junior manned the crews of every arriving flight at ORD in the previous 40 minutes. This was a week ago. I asked him what was going on with this airline, and he just laughed.

Oh just great. I'm not going to even call this poster a "troll." I'm adopting the term "drive-by poster." Drive by and unload a bunch of hokey and leave someone else to clean up the mess. You don't even work here! Why do you insist on posting and trying to bring out the worst in Envoy?

Envoy has changed dramatically since you left. We went through a down period for a while and have been on the upswing ever since. In fact, we have been on the serious upswing in the past 12 months. Maybe you are a lost decader and can't get over it as someone hired in 2016 could flow in 2021 while it took you 16 or 17 years. This isn't the same Eagle. Times are different and it's great for those young CFI's getting in here now. In your day you likely were an instructor for several years and then finally graduated to flying boxes around. Then maybe you got hired at Simmons or some turbo prop Eagle back in the late 80's.

It probably bothers you that a fresh CFI with 1500 hours goes right into an E-175. Probably 3 times as big and fast as that Jetstream or CASA you started in. Get over it! Go post in the AA forum or retired codgers forum and leave us in peace.

Dacuj, do you feel like a big man by insulting other people or is it just your tactic to distract people from the discussion at hand?

Just FYI for everyone reading, "dacuj" is a veiled reference for cujo, the Eaglelounge handle for a former Envoy NYC union captain rep that held the company's feet to the fire. I'm sure these management stooges thought it would be funny to take yet another swipe at him, hence the username.

I heard it was mentioned at the alpa meeting tonight that lines will get better by a smidge. Nothing earth shattering. There was a rumor this year that non wholly owned airlines got the first crack at the flight file and that's why envoy schedules were sooo bad. Turns out that's not true. It's marketing. Management at envoy has the power to fix our schedules. The question is are they incompetent or don't want to fix them. If they don't want to fix them is it because they don't see them as a problem?
