They were, initially at least. When the ASA 200 ending was announced, 9E was taking 14 of them. That's morphed into them only getting 5 in service now. Then parking a total of 16 200's in exchange for the 28 CR9 and 3 CR7.

Here's what is funny. Everyone wants mainline to pull flying back in house and quit subcontracting to regionals. When one of them starts doing it, everyone starts saying how they are being Comaired and starts boycotting... Because that makes sense. What did you think would happen when flying started moving back to Mainline?

This is absolutely false, on the pilot side at least. Don't know about mechanics. But let's be honest, this isn't the real reason. We all know it's a union issue. JA made that abundantly clear back in 08, during the first buyout attempt. There was no talk of contract provisions (other than getting rid of the provision forcing SLI). The only other thing they would consider was if we decertified ALPA.

You're equating Endeavor to mainline? That is so wrong!

I know reading is hard, but I never said anything like that. Yes, Delta did reallocate their airplanes to a carrier they owned but out of the 60 some that are coming off contract, only 30 are going to Endeavor. I'm addition, they are parking a dozen or so 50 seaters. So, that's a net decrease of almost 50 airplanes at the regional level. But hey, boycott them because it fits your backward narrative.

No mainline operator in their right mind is pulling regional flying in house. Why would they? It is a cheap source of additional feed.

Yes, they may up-gauge a route that was previously served by a 50 or 76 seater to a C-Series or 717. But that just means that capacity was freed up to tackle a new market with that freed up equipment.

Yes, there is now some "open scope" with Delta - but don't even think for a second that this scope isn't spoken for. It is just a matter of time until that gap will be filled again with regional flying.

All the majors - with a scope clause - are scoped out for a reason.

The majors aren't scoped out. There is plenty of 50 seat lift available at Delta with them parking 50 seaters.

True - but not for 700/900 flying which where I think this all originated.

The 50 sweaters are not scoped out but they will be around after the last 700 gets parked.

I think Delta has 50 seat lift caped at 125. I'm not sure where the numbers are in regards to that though

50 seat cap is 125 lines of flying, not airframes, like the large RJ cap of 325. Additionally there is significant OO at risk/EAS that may or may not count toward that number
