I doubt United wants expressjet. If they did, I doubt SKYW would sell for any kind of reasonable price. SKYW owns a good chunk of the regional market. They won't give up a bunch of that market share cheap.

That's the thing. SkyWest doesn't "own" it. The terms of the next CPA is always subject to negotiation. It's ultimately up to what United wants.

jcountry, you're missing the point I think.

United Airlines are the New Yankees and Skywest are the Oakland A's.

United will get what it wants when it wants it and will dictate the price they pay for it.
