I think this will pass. I'm guessing 65-75 percent pass rate. The 175's will get a lot of votes.

But you have to staff those planes. I don't think the new hires will be knocking down any doors with this contract.

The next step will be the “contingency” aspect....which WILL bring new hires.

There is already a mass exodus on the LASA side. If the Jan 2019 contingency kicks in I think it will get worse and no one will come here.

Exactly my thoughts.....interesting for sure to have that language in there, but means exactly nothing......we are negotiating to amend a contract from 2004!

That's why they have the signing bonus and you have new a/c with dropping upgrade times. Tons better than Mesa, Commutair or Transtates... I would like to have seen more of a "retention" bonus to keep folks though...

Tops out at 133.62, you mean.

Yeah. I was quoting this year's rates. This is what we should all be shooting for.

Agreed. Especially in this market.

Do new hires really care about topped out captain rates? Heck, I didn’t when I was hired... a few years ago. Do any of them think they will be around after 5 years? Frankly I think the topped out rates are a gamble on the part of regionals. They know they probably won’t pay many that rate and if they do it’s so far in the future it will be someone else’s problem.
New hire pay itself is easy to take care of outside the contract. Offer signing bonuses high enough and recruiting problem solved.
