This MEC understands the art of leverage for once. Expose some truths to drive pilots away and keep new hire numbers low and you have some real bargaining power. The deal was signed and sent out for a membership vote with a clear understanding they would come back to the table shortly after the spinoff, they did not. Letter 2. It’s as simple as that, black and white. United posted a $1.1 BILLION dollar profit in Q2 alone. It’s time to say FUPM. Keep up the good work XJT MEC.

Having been privy to some of this type of stuff in the past, things may have been promised verbally before the contract was signed and then walked back later. Not every aspect of the deal is what is actually in the text of a TA.
Unprofessional tactics? This union/company relations in aviation are a barroom brawl, not a fencing tournament. And management has a very large friend in the corner in the form of the RLA. Hit when you can as hard as you can.

So maybe before you talk such a tough game, learn some history. You probably wouldn't be on property right now if that deal hadn't gone down. For better or worse, it was the deal that had to be done at the time. I was a reluctant yes voter, my first yes vote. We did it it to get rid of skywest, our only shot at survival.

No you aren't. You're a junior reserve captain that sucks major amounts of cool-aid. You've been in the crew room endlessly complaining about the union emails pushing new hires away. You don't speak for the pilot group. Period.

This isn't a new hire. He's a junior reserve captain that wants people behind him to improve his QOL. He constantly complains about the union e-mails in the crew room because it's pushing new hires away. He has an agenda and much of it comes back to him. Typical pilot.

Regardless what anyone thinks of me, the argument falls on deaf ears. New hires have friends at the airline and they all tell them these Union emails are BS. So really at the end of the day the emails are so radical they only serve to divide the pilot group.
