When are they telling you what to expect for a base in training?

Since this is the only ASA topic on the first page... What does everyone think of the fact that ASA no longer operates overnights longer than 24 hours. JP's email eluded several steps the company is taking to trade quality of life for our crew members for a another cost cut. Soft cost's are cut dramatically and I'm sure it will stay that way for as long as it operationally can. Looks like 100+ credit hour months are soon to be a thing of the past.

Just wanted to say congrats to all the guys/gals who have been hired lately! I can tell anyone who is going to the ASA side that you will have a blast in training, as well as have some of the best instructors in the industry- from ground and sim inst. to the IOE guys! I just hope they keep this hiring going and the new hires get on line QUICK- gonna be a crazy spring/summer on our side till we keep the guys/gals coming! Plus I love seeing my seniority number rising by the month!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Where does ASA go that you *want* to stay at for over 24 hours?

The only place I want to be at that long is home.

Exactly! I sure as hell don't want to be in Montgomery, Alabama for 20ish freakin' hours.

I finished my interview this morning with the sim. Didn't do too bad. I had a couple of small altitude deviations. I hope they don't ding me for it. I heard from the sim instructor that it would be 7-10 days and the guys doing the tech interviews said 5-7 days. In my two previous airline jobs, I got the call practically the next day even though I was told the same.

Does anyone know how long ASA typically takes to call?

I knew in the middle of the sim, but that was in 2007 and I had already had crj sim training but going through it all was a formality and i could've def. messed up but it worked out ok for me. IMHO and not to sound like a jerk or anything outside of the norm, having a 'few' altitude/speed variations and being a DOT ( emphasis on DOT ) off here or there on loc/g/s is something you might want to be a bit concerned about in the future should you get, and I most sincerely hope you do, past the interview...In the future this will only annoy and completely irritate whoever it is you're flying with ( if it's consistent, with no move towards correction ) and, not to mention you will NOT pass your checkride. Just a fair warning ...
