Congratulations to everyone who got an offer and a class date. I'm still waiting for the call. I was wondering how many classes were there on the Expressjet side so far? I understand there were 3 in January and I think there are 2 planned for February and 2 for March. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Does anyone know how many people are in each class and how many classes they are planning in the future?

not sure how many are in each class... i would guess maybe 12-15.. buts thats a guess. I "heard" 2 classes a month until at least July if not more. A friend over at XJT said they are supposed to upgrade 30 a month so that will def. mean more hiring.

A normal class is 16, sometimes a class of 32 will start but they split them into 2 classrooms for systems.

so for all the new hires... a few questions

what hotel do they put you in (fridge, wave available)? did you drive to training? when do you get paid? do you get your crewbadge pretty quick so jumpseating is available? do they send you any training material before starting? jeans or khakis?

I havent gotten much info just yet.. training starts in a month so Ive got time. Thanks.

First congrats on the job, I have found everyone to be really helpful, and really friendly.

We get put up in the Holiday Inn on the corner of JFK Blvd and Beltway 8. You can be put on a list to get a fridge. It took about a week to get one in my room. There is a public microwave in a room that has been converted to a study room for the XJT'ers. There aren't ones for each room. I didn't drive, and now I'm kinda wishing I did. It makes life so much easier, but you can totally get by without one. The hotel shuttle bus runs to the mall every three hours. There is a Kroger within walking distance of the mall, so the roommate and I ran over to the Kroger and got some food then came back for the bus at the mall. They said that they will take you anywhere within 5 miles, but I don't know any specifics on that. I'm in the 17th class and we just got paid yesterday, and it looks like we'll get paid every two weeks from here on. During training you'll get a per diem starting at 8 am the day you start, through your whole training. It's not a ton of money, but it will get you by for sure. The crew badges took about a week and a half to get, but they tell you to be careful when jumpseating. If you miss a flight or somehow can't make it back to training, they will have no mercy for you. I did not receive any training material before coming down, but if you do enough research I'm sure you can come up with the limitations, and that would be a good start. As far as Jeans or Khakis, I was originally told business casual for the whole time, but on day one, they said that jeans were ok. Personally, I'm sticking with the business casual.

Hope this helps!
