I'm a reserve FO. A month where I block over 50 hours is pretty much like winning the lottery. If I can get some more hours that'd be just neat-o. I don't need to fly less.

If we're hiring, and there are people coming in...why am I still on reserve? Oh yeah thats right they hire 50 year olds to staff that leave within a few months to go to a major...honestly i better be getting off reserve soon cause its getting harder to stick around this joint....

The thing pilots should be asking themselves now is will ASA even exist in 5 years.

But ASA doesn't exist now. Sorry, couldn't resist. I get what you are saying.

Good question. Best case at this point seems to be "right-sized" down to who knows what. Not quite the "Super Regional" and "Economies of Scale" powerpoint I got 3 years ago...

As of today, the last -200 is parked in 2018, and the last 700/900 is parked in 2021. This from the "static fleet plan" management released right before we voted down the TA. Nothing has changed since then. I firmly believe SKYW Inc. has this place on life support until then. They seem to have made very little effort to "win new flying" and anything SKYW has won has gone to "mainline" not us. Do I have to draw you the whole picture?

Long enough where I'm getting a seniority boost one month and going back down the next. You know why we're losing money? Cause we train guys just to get the 121 time and they leave within 3 months...

WOW… Just wow! I had no idea the expiration date for the ENTIRE 200 fleet was so soon. 36 months? And how many -200s are on property? 80ish? That would mean we're returning on average 2 CRJs per month. Consequently, that would also suggest we're shrinking by 10-14 pilots per month. (And where does that leave new-hire pilots who just got hired here and hope to upgrade in 2-3 years?)

Damn. I will buy everyone on this forum a Coke if ASA continues to upgrade 6+ pilots per month the rest of the year.
