Ask yourself this:
Do you like comfort animals and their owners?
Do you like having your career in jeopardy of ending because Latanya wants to get a free ticket and is filming your every move for Twitter?
Do you like people asking you where baggage claim is?
Do you like TSA trying to sniff you every morning to find out if you had a drink in an effort to end your career?
Do you like security lines?
Do you like being told about every horrific bad experience a person has had at any airline because you’re an airline pilot?
Do you like adjusting the temperature 14 times in 7 min because it was requested by 3 different FAs who won’t talk to each other because ones sleeping with a gate agent that another has the hots for?
Do you like trying to talk to drunk people who take swings at you while being recorded on camera by millennials and other social media filmmakers?
Do you like the thought of going to work with a group of angry individuals who constantly complain about how they were wronged by a seniority integration McAbortion?
Do you like waiting for a gate, every, single, time?
Do you like waiting to goto the bathroom or to eat until the fat cow working the oven has completed destroying the forward Lav and pilfered thru your rice crispie breakfast “meal.”
Do the words “hired until the day they furloughed” mean anything to you?
Do you find anatomy measuring contests with gate agents a pleasurable experience?
Do you like waiting 7-8 years to make the same amount of money a FedEx pilot will make before he/she is off probation?
Do you like bragging about how your 5 days of vacation resulted in exactly 5 days off?
Do you like airport terminal food, cold, because you don’t have enough time to eat between the 4 flights a day and don’t trust the “chicken like product,” Delores said was loaded for you?
Does getting paid 7 hours for flying a red eye, sitting in a hotel room a full day, and flying back late on day 3 sound reasonable to you?

It’s not 2005 anymore chief. When you make extreme statements people don’t pay attention to you.
And if you’re arguing with passengers, gate agents or FAs you’re doing it wrong.

Nothing against AA at all but all I can think about when I see the question, "American or Fedex?", are the stories right before 9/11.
Numerous people getting hired at Fedex and leaving for AA or some other airline days before. We all know what happened soon after for employees.
In late 1992 I had a plan to get a job at an airline as a baggage handler at UA, Delta or AA so as to one day obtain an interview.
I told one individual, a guy who had been flying freight for 40 years.
He thought about the plan then shook his head, No.
He said, "good plan, don't go to a pax airline but over to the dirty side of the airport, Fedex or UPS."
He said, "pax airlines go up then down, Fedex or UPS slowly go up forever."
It's nice to have choices in life but choose wisely.

It’s only getting worse on the pax side. I left 121 pax several months ago for FedEx, and it is absolutely a huge relief to know I don’t have to deal with that BS ever again.

Remember the golden rule: never question Fedex or Southwest employment. Those pilot groups are by far the most sensitive groups alive. The poster insulted fedex pilots by even mentioning AA in the same breath as fedex. With that said, you are young so who has the least chance of folding or having serious financial isssues down the road? Fedex so there is your answer. I am late 40’s and didnt go to my fedex interview after being at AA for 4 months. No way I was going to commute to Memphis, deal with night hub turns, training pay, or a crashpad in training. American has treated me great so far and I have not had one negative interaction with anyone. I am drinking the koolaid but like I said earlier: go to Fedex because they probably have 25 billion in cash sitting around and AA has 25 billion in debt.

For you the juice wasn’t worth the squeeze at Purple. No problem.

This is APC so the OP can expect a range of opinions, mostly so shallow and lacking critical thought...
What the OP need to be asking is..
Why FedEx or AA? The top two are DAL and UAL in terms of earnings potential...
FedEx biz model outside of Flight Ops needs to be scrutinized...
AA joint ventures (as well as DAL) result in less WB jobs (think big bucks, or lack of access to those jobs).
As far as union effectivness, FX still thinks like FPA and the APA is about as effective as an aerated condom. If you don't understand what that means, then AA or FX is right for you.
