Where to live near Memphis?

I learned to ice skate there as a toddler and when I was about 7 years old I got to see Johnny Rivers give a free concert at the rink.

Tony I honestly didn't know you are a local guy too but the Mall of Murder was the Mall of Memphis. I remember when the Raleigh Springs Mall was new also, I used to do donuts in the snow in the parking lot.

By donuts, do you mean practicing adverse weather driving skills?
And yepp, just a couple of blocks from Raleigh-Egypt, back when it was a college prep high school ... in Memphis reserve.

Well, I stand corrected, then. It's certainly not the first time, and highly doubtful it'll be the last. I somehow missed that moniker.

I’m thinking of buying a small place down there and seeing how the family and myself enjoy it for a year or so. If it doesn’t work out, I figured we could at least keep the place and turn it into a pad. Initial thoughts are Collierville, Olive Branch, Hernando.
Has anyone here done this in the past?

Collierville stay north of 385 (some say north of Poplar)
Olive Branch stay south of 302 (Goodman Rd)
Hernando - I’m not aware of any desired line.

Any recommendations for a RE agent? Would like to get an idea if it’s a decent time to buy or renting for a while would make more sense.

Southaven/Hernando: Church Rd. is probably about as far North as I would want to go.
