Been an FDA guy my entire career here, starting with Subic as a new hire.
No wife. No kids I’m bringing back, etc
Where would you rent for a year (going to 777 FO with 30% or better seniority) while you figure out life in the US and where to buy a house and commute for real from?
Looked downtown for the character. Found a good loft with a garage. I cc but also got the impression I’d actually NEED to cc (a first for me) walking home, which didn’t seem cool.
Coilliervile seemed soulless, antiseptic and devoid of anything even resembling character but the apartment was nice and had a pool that I think would have MILFs in the summer
If you had to rent a close to turn key place from the Peabody to Buffalo Wild Winds in base housing for a year... what would you do????????
(Edit: i stress rent because tho ive heard Oxford is nice, why give MS close to 1000 a month in state income taxes vs TN taking 0)

Skypine27: While walking home may not ultimately be your preferred mode of transportation, I still think you'd be happier somewhere near downtown. I know several folks speak highly of Mud Island, but there are other, newer options as well. Far more character, culture, and variety than any Collierville apartment complex swimming pool.
