Dumba$$
You need to buy a cooler. Or call the Duty Officer and have extra meals boarded to take along and get a fridge at the hotel. I cannot believe some of the whining around here as we watch every pax pilot in the world get their a$$e$ handed to them. Figure it out, make it work, and count your blessings. Or put your schedule in open time - plenty of folks would be fine with that as well.

These are not normal circumstances we are in. Maybe you don’t want to carry food but you might have to put your big boy pants on and find a way to get some if it’s not conveniently located. Delivery is still available in CA. You might not be able to eat for $4.99 and pocket the rest of your per diem but will be okay. Certainly let the company know if food is not readily available. They seem to be doing their best in this changing environment, but we have a role to play and can help ourselves...Message To Garcia amigo.

All flights should be catered with menu options if flying into an area with known food shutdowns. Another option is out and backs out of memphis, similar to the BQN, SJU trips after Maria.
Hotel consolidation makes alot of sense if US Airlines could get together and ensure full service hotels are full with flight crews.

Exactly. It’s not hard to bring some food with you, and keep your eyes open for more food purchases during the trip. I just did it, and it was exactly like the RJ days.
Do I want to have this be a permanent thing? Absolutely not. But this is an operationally emergency, and we need to make a few things happen ourselves right now.

I have been flying all week and no problem with food. Yes hotel restaurants have shut down but numerous takeout options or delivery options. Most of our crew force could miss a week of meals and be just fine. In fact their spouses may appreciate it.

While these are valid complaints and I hope you completed a PDR, these are crazy times and it’s best to be as prepared in any way you can. I’m packing Kind bars and other things that usually don’t cause agricultural/customs problems. PDRs/Insites track these problems and hopefully lead to solutions. Hang in there.....

I bet you're the kind of person that finds a problem with just about everything. Were fortunate to have jobs at the moment, so buy some protein bars and oatmeal packets and buckle in. What a princess.
