Understood, not trying to kill the messenger It’s just not a good answer from management that deserves a follow question or two. They can plan as far ahead as they want and roll out bids quarterly, for example, to execute that plan. As it stands now, we basically bid to get on a list to be able to bid on a monthly basis for training.

People said they wanted more control of when they went to training. So the NC agreed to the present system with the company. In the agreement, the NC gave up passover pay. Big mistake. Now we have something called, "slot denial pay", which, according to the people who are getting it, is not as much as passover pay. Significantly less, I am told. Meanwhile, we have new hires getting wide body aircraft on day one, and 757 FO's who cannot "train" for the 767, because the company doesn't want to have to train their replacement. I think there was a grievance on this, but someone with more knowledge can explain how it worked out. We usually lose grievances, so I am not hopeful.
In other words, "our" negotiating committee got played, again, as usual.
What will they give away this time? Oh, right, the A plan, even though they won't tell us until it's too late, but that is their plan.
Of course, they would not poll the membership honestly to find out what the members wanted, because, well, they think they are smarter than the rest of us.
"They" think "they" are smarter than "us". Uh, if "they" were, the NC wouldn't get played so often.
We lose every single contract, and barely break even on inflation.
"My" union continues to disappoint.
But hey, they won't listen to the membership, and they won't tell us what is going on, or even what they are negotiating for, except in terms so vague, we won't really know until the end.
I guess if you don't know the goals, you can't blame anyone when they are not achieved.
If you want to get the union's and management's attention, vote down the first TA. Then maybe, just maybe, someone might listen.
Sadly, I've seen this song and dance too many times to be very hopeful for a better outcome.

I see a few names on APC and JF that do nothing but biatch and complain. Im curious to know what level of involvement they have in making the changes they so badly want. I constantly see our union asking for volunteers or elected positions that are open. How many of the cry babies do you think will step up? None

I’d love an electoral college type system where my vote counts more than people that will be retiring in 1-3 years since I’ll have to live under the contract longer. I’m now ready to receive my thrashing.

Im happy with the product ALPA has provided me while at FDX. Our CBA is still industry leading in most areas. Still have an A and B plan. Bids have worked out fine.

Of course you’re happy; you’re a d-bag! Tell me: is one born a d-bag, or does one become a d-bag? probably a combination of nature and nurture I suppose. question: are d-bags self aware? I mean, do you even know that you’re a d-bag? or are you completely oblivious? I think you’re lonely. I think you’re a sad lonely soul who is going die alone someday. I almost feel sorry for you, but I am far too repulsed by you!!!
