Can someone explain how dropping works at FedEx. I’m told it’s fairly easy to drop, is that only under certain circumstances?

No, it’s not. My comment you quoted was from 10/10 and the thread that you are referring to started 11/05 and I have commented on it telling people to knock it off. I want the best contract possible and arguing or discussing pay, retirement, work rules, and work actions in a very public forum is not smart.

You don’t know who I am and I don’t know who you are, and we don’t know who is a management troll trying to stir the pot. We don’t know anyones motivation on here so discussing what we want in a contract is not helpful to active negotiations.

On the other thread that you mentioned I said the following and was ignored. The same people that are always stirring the pot on here just kept arguing.

I really want to know what the NC is pushing for on our behalf but I also think any public discussion of negotiations or work actions weakens our position. I hate to say it because I too am worried about the A plan and scope, but we all need to shut up in these forums and let the NC do it’s job. If you want your voice heard then get involved, show up at the rally today, email or call your reps, and VOTE.

Staffing dependent. Drop/Swap etc.

Think Red/Green/Yellow staffing grid if you have anything like that at your current gig.

We do, but it’s always red. Without exception. So it’s basically irrelevant. I’m trying to understand if it’s a more useful system at FX

When we run lean, it’s hard to drop. But still possible with some persistence. When more overmanned it’s pretty easy to drop your entire line if desired. The past 20 months it’s been quite difficult and the current lean staffing (systemwide in general, it does vary seat to seat) plus peak footing has made it near impossible to drop.

According to the union, the A300 is now properly staffed. If you look at the reserve allocation summary it’s mostly green.

I try to ignore the existence of the French Light Twin, except when I need a jumpseat somewhere.

150% of current is a good start. I came up with that number because every trip I fly ends up being 150% based upon revisions and extensions. They obliviously don't have a problem paying that already to include 200%.
