You insinuate that the draft "hoorse" are doing something wrong. If we are not in self help, they are legally following the contract. The union even said so in one of its missives.
I am in favor of everyone getting retro pay, as the amount would more likely be larger than a signing bonus, for both those flying extra and those electing not to fly extra.
More pay is more pay, so why are people against it? Jealousy?
Other airlines get it, why can't we?

For this exact reason I will never be in favor of retro. It rewards the greedy and selfish proportionately. A flat bonus treats everyone the same by seat, fleet or longevity.
You should honestly be ashamed to receive any of the provisions of the contract. You deserve none of them condoning pilots who choose selfishness. Chances are you are in this group beings you are a defender of the defenseless behavior.

We can’t get it because pilots like you defend greed and selfish behavior. This creates no leverage or pressure on the company to agree to those things you are asking for.

I won't be lectured to by a youngster who constantly advocates for an unlawful work action that could lead to a lawsuit that could bankrupt the union.
You need to tread lightly, you are on very thin ice, and your actions could do a lot more to damage the union than those "draft hoorse" you so despise.
If you want to promote your agenda in person, I have no problem with that, but those who advocate that no one should fly draft or volunteer on this board are risking a lot that the rest of us don't want to lose.
If we are sued, and it has happened at other airlines, I will be the first to call you out for your actions.
I know you don't like me, and I am ok with that, but sometimes you should really think before you write on this board. Your statements could be used against all of us, and I am certainly not in favor of that.

I don’t understand what you mean that it’s income. Both are income or are you saying that income and compensation are different? I honestly don’t know. I hear this all the time. If you are just repeating what others have said, that’s fine. I was just wondering if there was actually a source document you can point me to.

Does anyone care? Not a peep on the boards, from the union, from the company -- nothing. We are on a seven year old contract. We are working harder for less real pay than ever before. Our retirement is shrinking every day. Go to the contract '21 section of the MEC website - it has cobwebs on it.
For the love of all that's holy, how about a bumper sticker or a slogan? I have clearly underestimated the effects of quick upgrades, hiring, and premium pay. I guess we'll have to wait for the inevitable stagnation and backsliding before anyone realizes our current predicament. 4.a.2.c after a year of 7% inflation and $100 oil will get everyone started on what is looking to be Contract '25.
How about if we show just a little foresight and get after this before the pain comes?
At least in the past people feigned indignation.

It doesn’t help your argument when it’s filled with inaccurate statements.
First- our contract isn’t at the seven year point until November of 2022. Besides, it was an agreed to 6 year deal by the pilots in 2015, so what difference does that make now? After all, isn’t that part of the reason that the MEC pushed a focused agenda?
Secondly, the contract 21 page is updated at least monthly with new updates from the negotiators. This is the most transparent and frequent communication I have ever seen during negotiation for 3 ALPA contracts and 1 FPA contract.
Stop worrying about things you can’t control and start “working” more on the things you can.

Gets some balls. You are worried the Union will get sued if guys change their work habits? Fine, sue the union, you can't force guys to fly anything . There's too many **** suC@##$% in Memphis selling out the rest. Its my 5th contract and its the same crap but worse. If we aren't constructively talking to our extra flyers, than we aren't going to make any ground. And the extra flyers all have reasons why they fly extra. I just hope people remember who sacrificed and who didn't.

I want a better contract. IMHO, the way to get that is for the NC to say "no". If the union tries to sell us a contract that is not good, then it is up to the crew force to vote no. I think people are scared to vote no. I am not.
