A Simple Reminder

"it's the best we can get"
What makes a FedEx pilot not worth the same as a legacy? I truly don’t get it. Do we produce less revenue? Are passengers more profitable than cargo that allow employees to properly compensated? If you think about it, a Legacy 777 will have 3 to 4 pilots and maybe 10 flight attendants. How can the company not afford to just pay pilots? All these red herring arguments are distractions. The company can afford to pay us not only market rates, but industry leading rates. We just happen to work for an employer that wants a war. It doesn’t have to be this way, but if that’s the way management wants it, then we have to stand our ground at all costs.
"we can't guarantee that the next deal won't be worse",
I have reached the point where I don’t care. If this TA does not meet our criteria, I can only take it as an insult and an offense. If the next deal is worse, we turn that one down too. We go to the end of the line and see where that takes. I have a family. I don’t want the turmoil. But if that’s where management leads, I can only stand my ground and know what I’m worth.
"time value of money",
Being underpaid by 5% with a lagging retirement comes at a cost too.
"its not concessionary because the total value of the deal is greater"
Concessions are viewed against the previous contract. American and Delta and UPS passed with zero concessions. Why are we always the ones that agree to concessions?

Meet you back here to see how your argument shifts to "Well its not everything that we asked for but what's the alternative?" Hope is a pretty poor strategy, but for those unwilling to fight what else is left. Trust and believe when the TA is published I will be here to listen to your equivocations and arguments in favor of it.

Waiting to get "our panties" in a bunch until after this agreement comes out will be too late. The best outcome could be that we put enough pressure on the MEC to reject a deal that doesn't meet their stated priorities. If you honestly think the information about what's in this deal is not being circulated you're being naive and you have know way of knowing what anyone knows. I don't want to read a bad deal. In fact we should never even see it. Don't know why the logic behind that escapes you. If the firing squad is circular its because some of us seem to think having the membership at large vote on a bad deal is a good idea. 57% to 43% that's what that gets you around here.
If the MEC rejects this thing there's still an opportunity to keep moving towards self help.
PS the burning bush was God directing Moses to lead the Israelites out of Egypt. The analogy is a bit over the top but if that's the message you're getting I'm good with it.

it hasn’t made it out of the process to be even considered by the crew force. You sound like the arrogant politicians who can’t be bothered with what the majority might vote. You are so much wiser than everybody else and if the TA reaches the unwashed masses that vote would be too much responsibility for grown men and women, many with more life experience than you. Last time I checked we are members of ALPA, not Shaman’s Pilot Association. You can start a new union. It can be called SHaman Is The Pilot I Love Emulating. Until then, you get 1 vote like all of us. If the TA sucks, hopefully it gets voted down. If it doesn’t go your way, I hear Delta’s hiring…I’m sure you’d rock the double breasted suit and hat with that attitude.

The name calling and denigrating another pilot group is also a nice touch. One never knows what will trigger some people.
So I will apologize for saying things you don't like. If you need a hug let me know.

I really do think Delta, United or AA might be a better fit for you. You don’t seem happy and You are too smart to stay with this basket of deplorables here.
It’s after midnight….Friday is upon us. You’ll see a TA soon…or not if the MEC sends it back. Then you might have a reason to debate like an adult.
Hugs

Says the person who “denigrates” the crew force he works with and the union representing him 🤔. Can’t try and play the voice of calm and reason here when you’ve gotten all hot and bothered all week.

Like I said we will all meet you back here so you can tout the merits of our industry leadong contract. One thing you said was right those at Delta and united rejected substandard deals and got something better. We need more of that here instead of encouraging it to leave.
