Red face Respectfully, you're really quite wrong

The crew force and the union do not care about your pocketbook after you retire.

There appear to be many concessions in this TA, and of course we know how these contracts go, more concessions that were snuck in become obvious after implementation. I think people close to retirement will vote for it, and those further away having to live with the concessions, won't.
I'm not really hiding here... perhaps I'm not as well known as TonyC, but there are plenty on the triple that were happy I did their line checks over the last 5 years or so.

My retirement is in fact imminent and mandatory as I'm very rapidly approaching 65. So no, I'm not taking the extra 32K and running. I prefer to look in the mirror with some self respect knowing that I didn't abandon those who are following me.

Default "Hard No"

In my brief encounters with other crew members on the hub turn I continually heard "Hard No." I am in that camp as well.
Sacrificing QOL in so many places to subsidize future retirement that may not be there seems like a bad idea.
  • Flat pay raise that only brings us up to current inflationary levels, maybe...
  • No back pay to amendable date, so are we splitting those dollars 50 / 50 with the Company?
  • 15yr to 14yr, 15yr to 13yr, 15yr to 12yr, so If I have been here five years how does that help me? (I am am a 17 yr guy)
  • R24 to R16.... How do I commute in?
  • SMU... didn't see that one coming, complete give back
  • Substitution lives on....
  • Scope? SPR.... 1% of airframe shrinkage is on the horizon without a doubt, wet lease while parking jets = fewer FDX pilots = slower career progression, so if I have been here 5 years how does this help me?
  • AVA changes,..... Productivity increase subsidizing retirement
  • Implementation schedule over 4 years.... seen that play out before
  • No penalty language if they do not get around to their phase in per the implementation dates... Trust us it'll be different this time, you'll love the text message notifications, when feasible of course
I appreciate everyone's hard work, I spent two hours reading every blue letter, red letter and green letter of the TA.
Easy Choice... Hard No

If you’re the same Chip that I did CLM with a couple years ago, then you’re also a funny mofo 👍🏻

Here, here! I read through the PDF and quickly realized our status quo with current pay rates is better than what this pos TA proposes.

Here's a funny one our NC must have fought so hard for: "A pilot shall not be required to provide a receipt/folio with the pilot’s expense report. The Company will provide the pilot a method by which the Company can obtain the receipt/folio from the hotel directly."
TRANSLATION: Company Expense Report office will call your cell phone at 2AM with a fax number for the folios. You will be instructed by the Company to call all of your scheduled hotels for all previous month's expense reports and pass them this fax number. Company requirement complete.

What did WE give up for this???????

We got friggin' duped! I see ZERO true QOL gains that are applicable to 95% of the crew force.

FUPM, DAL + a Dime, ZERO CONCESSIONS, SCOPE! .... I'll wait!!!

Pat May stated in the TA Highlight video...

'a specifically targeted benefit for the nearly 3100 pilots who have been hired here since 2015'

What percentage of 3100 are they hoping will vote Yes because of this benefit?

Also, I would like for Pat to point out where in Section 6 Openers this 'targeting' is listed.

Ultimately, many people that gave FedEx their best for decades will end up selling out their peers for what’s barely better than a kick in the nuts compared to what they should have got.

An empty house at the roadshows will be an obvious indication of support for this TA.

Why don't you wait for the vote to see what really happens.

Thank you for your NO vote. Wish I was on the triple so I could buy you beers.
