Default The Unconscionable TA

If somehow you're on the fence, or a weak Yes vote:

Forget the union videos.

Forget the NC's interpretation of the TA.

Forget the Unconscionable tactic of our own union threatening our junior brothers and sisters with the F word if we vote this down.

Please, read the new language for yourself again and do your and my careers both a favor by viewing it through worst-case scenario (Scope).

We fly much tougher schedules compared to any pax airline while hauling higher-yielding profit for every pound we move, decade after decade. This TA does not recognize that, which is why it required fuzzy math at the roadshows.

We have not arrived to our destination with TA1. TA1 is us diverting short, to a bad alternate full of surprises because of fatigue and the fear of pressing on. We still have fuel, we still have energy, we still have the fight ahead in us, and a 99% Strike Authorization Vote. The company needs our services now and going into peak. Let's press on to our destination: a CBA overwhelmingly ratified by our group.

”Yeah…..don’t listen to anybody else but my viewpoint…. Do your own research by deliberately ignoring the architects of the deal, only listen to anecdotal scenarios, and by all means DO NOT LOOK AT EMPIRICAL DATA from the ones who you voted for and have been hip deep in this for years…..I’m not getting enough, I’m afraid, and I want you to feel the envy and fear too!”…..

the sweat of desperation is tangible….. you can smell it

This isn't that complicated, just follow the money. For guys near retirement this increase in the pension is a massive bonus. Massive like a million dollars, that's straight from PM during the virtual road show. It's going to be paid for through the concessions in this contract. Do you want to make less in the future to fund this bonus.

Look who is trying to sell you this TA. How will they benefit from it, what are their incentives? Jackal accuses people of using fear to sway voters and then immediately insinuates on another thread you won't be able to "depend on this crowd if the TA fails."

It's up to junior guys to protect their futures. If we dont turn out then you will be working harder for less than the guys walking out the door.

Its easy to vote YES when people like you want to sell out others on your behalf. This isn't senior vs junior. Maybe unity is something you don't understand. And if you are going to post about the retirement bump, be factual. The bump is $650K if you live 20 years after 60, 487K if you retire at 65 and live to be 80. Not even close to a million dollars as you stated. Some pilots have been through three contracts asking for a change to the pension, so they finally got it. a massive 32.5K/yr. And if you would educate yourself on the contract, there were no concessions to get the retirement bump. New pilots now have the MBCBP, which will be worth several million dollars with no cap on the total. I think the guys walking out the door would rather have that than $169K/yr pension. Since you are another, "All about me" guy, I'm sure when you are voting on your last contract, you'll be screwing the juniors guys.

Jakal, you keep missing the point.

The issue with the Unconscionable TA isn't about not getting enough, but about giving away too much.

The June 26th Fastread email contains TA roadshow video part 1. Go to the transcript and at 1:16:22, PM's exact words "eight hundred thousand to one million dollars" to purchase the equivalent annuity.

I've educated myself with source information from roadshows. You are countering it with misinformation and insinuating that I'm "all about me" and will be " screwing junior guys" on my last contract, in your own thinly veiled
attempt at "screwing over the junior guys".

Stan are you ever going to answer the question about how you changed your mind so fast on this TA? To quote you "the NC sold us out again". So how did you change your mind to be such a boot licking yes voter so quickly?

He’s gotta vote yes for fear of not getting his precious pension. He knows it’s garbage, doesn’t care because he will get his, screw the rest of the crewforce. He’s what we call a one-way check valve.

Get it failed and 500 or so more will be ready to help, in a good way, for TA 2.0

Put a dollar figure on what you consider a giveaway.

Furthermore…why then if it’s not about “Getting enough”….why all the talk about Someone else’s higher pay table. My issue is not with those that disagree with me, my issue is the way the No voters devolved into tribalism, vilifying good guys who worked here for 20 some odd years, then advocating boycotting roadshows, then accusing people of lying. It’s poor form….and will not build a coalition with a failed TA.

I listened to someone that was squawking about scope and student lines that admitted he hadn’t actually read the TA, he was relying on what some of his friends told him. He was surprised by some of the provisions when I showed him the TA…..He didn’t even have a copy, I had to send it to him via Bluetooth.

I also had two separate individuals, tell me they didn’t read 5he contract because they have a hard time understanding how it all ties together.

That kind of contract expertise does not inspire confidence.
