According to block 7 rep at last nights hub turn meeting every one of those concessions are in the calculations. The company won't see any savings for 17 years on sunsetting the a plan.

You are absolutely correct, which is why the "valuation" part of the sales job was fictitious.

Would that be the same Block 7 rep that flip flopped on his positions after he was elected?

Why should I trust anything that comes out of his mouth?

Also, who paid for the pizza that he brought to the "glad handing" tour? Him? Or the union "SM" that wants to keep him from being recalled?

Simple solution for getting higher rates for the 757 is to go to 767.........you don't have to change the industry, the company, or the contract....just your relative seniority.

You need to fight for what's right in your mind as you see it, but sometimes Don Quixote would have been better off taking the easier path....

I also need to take my own advice as I have often times tried to cultivate martyrdom as my profession.
Wow. Just Wow. Can everyone just do this? If so, then 600 guys won't need to be on 757 pay - ever! Problem solved. Next!

Is this “double edge sword” sharp on either side, or dull on both? …like yours always seems to be.

The idea that our pilot group is, or should be, afraid to stand up for ourselves has proven to be untrue - especially among the younger guys.

Unity and fortitude will be required all the way to the end zone.

I post to present data, information & some insight, and to hopefully promote useful discussion & debate. Useful meaning an actual position or solution is ultimately articulated.

Your motivation and goals appear different.

No one is insulting you - just challenging your motivation and goals. They never seem to be "pro Fedex pilot'. They seem to be supporting the status quo and don't offer any new solutions. TA 1.0 failed. Let's listen to the junior guys and learn.

Or the fact that they get profit sharing. PD on the "leaked" recording talking about how we need to get rid of BKO to get industry rates. Nonsense. We have so much ammunition to get us all a contract we can be proud of. I hope the collective pilot group has the fortitude to make us all very proud to work here again.

Just listen to the junior guys, you're kidding, right? How about the majority not a certain seniority?

OK. I’ll rephrase. Let’s listen to the majority of the guys who voted against TA1.0 and learn. Meeting their goals is what will get us to a ratified TA - many, if not the majority, of them are junior. Hopefully, we’re aiming for a TA2.0 that’s approved by at least 70-75%, not 50%+1. The next 4 months will be interesting. Let’s all hope they’re productive.

p.s. It’s a simple stance. No jet / No seat should be underpaid. It’s attainable in many ways.

So the following isn't insulting, only constructive?

Just because I disagree with your methods doesn't mean I am for the status quo. I have asked numerous times what your solutions are, but you never provide them.

How about listening to EVERYONE, not just a select group. Listening to the majority of 57% of the crew force, or less than 30%, won't get us to the 70-75% approval you said you are looking for. I would like to see an even higher approval rate.

Since you don't believe block 7, why don't you confirm what he says by asking block 2 or 5, they seem to disagree with him on everything.

I have heard a lot of people on here say the company hasn't put anything into the pension over the last few years. If that is true than sunsetting the pension doesn't save the company much money. Maybe that is why they don't see any return for 17 years.

I understand. That people are skeptical about what block 7 says. If you are one of those guys, why don't you check his statements with people you do trust?
Are you afraid to find out he might be telling the truth?

According to the union, the cost to the company to increase our pension by 100 million costs the company 500 million. 100 to us and 400 to the insurance side of the pension. That 400 million comes out of the company profit, but we don't see any of that money.
