Who's replacing the A300? They don't block much and are fairly low time. Still easy to get parts for. Another boogy man you want to throw in the mix.

This one kills me. We "allow" them to offer an early out. If they feel like it. With no requirements to actually do so.

It's the contract provision that's not a contract provision.

It won't be by the spring like sellout PD has posited.

I don’t get why you guys feel the need for name-calling and disparaging remarks. Isn’t it enough to be confident in your disagreement?

Going to guess you never worked at a regional. He didn't either. Regardless, when you are in the position he's in, you should have a pulse on the pilot group and he has failed miserably. Guy will get laughed out of any cockpit he enters when/if he comes back to the line. People haven't forgotten the words in Fred's Red Letter from ~30 years ago. This won't be any different. And it's even worse, since he's supposed to be one of us.

What does working at a regional have to do with a propensity to poor manners and boorish behavior?

Does working at a regional somehow entitle you or make you more susceptible to calling names and hurling insults in public? I don't think that's what you were trying to say......but it seems like it.....as if ....If I worked at a regional in the past, I would give myself permission to act in an anti-social way.

Perhaps its because some of you grew up in a society where differences of opinion automatically devolve into tribalism and gutter warfare....I'm just guessing here...not accusing.

I still don't get it...it seems pretty insecure to me. The guy was negotiating on your behalf....you don't think he did a very good job....why are you so angry because he missed the mark? IF a baseball player strikes out, are you the kind of guy who will then pile on and throw his hotdog at the guy?

I see what you're saying. You didn't work for a regional clearly and there's a reason people like him drift to management; can't see the forest through the trees.

However unpopular my opinion may be of him to you, it is my own, and you deserve yours. No one asked him to "negotiate" for anything on our behalf. Further, because you've never been at a regional you wouldn't know how much of an insult it really was. Whatever, your background was, I'm grateful for. It's what makes FedEx a great place to work. I appreciate your perspective.

When a baseball player strikes out, he leaves the batters box, returns to the bench and sits down. The next guy stands into the box to take his hack at the problem. If the guy who struck out refuses to leave the box, then yeah, someone might throw a hotdog at him.

Your choice of words is interesting, That you would use the word “popular” with regard to my individual thought versus your individual thought… Your opinion is your opinion, and my opinion is my opinion. There is no “popularity” involved.

I do notice a theme, running through the threads on here, and it seems like only the angry people post anymore, and it has to do with what other people’s opinion is of our contract… What other airlines will think about our airline’s contract. To me the over-riding concern about what other people think is disproportionate, and I believe there’s a lot of envy involved.

i’m beginning to believe that for some of you the anger stems from the fact that you were confusing your market worth and what’s being negotiated for you, and your self-worth. Your worth as an individual has nothing to do with whatever contract that has been negotiated or company you work for.

I think I I think I understand the regional comment now. You see, there were three “Pats” that could’ve been talked about when referred to as “that sellout Pat’. PO, (block rep) PM ( Negotating Committee), and PD (Company)….

Each of these three have been spoken of in very antisocial terms. Quite frankly, there’s been language used that wouldn’t be used in a face-to-face conversation. I was under the impression that this time when somebody said “that sellout Pat” he was referring to PM, obviously your beef Has to be with our company PD, who made mention about the offer from whatever the airline was to Fedex pilots.

if I was a regional guy, at least I’d be going back from once I came “if I had a military background, then I really might be insulted because I might think that beneath me… In any case I wasn’t insulted at all and neither should you be… Plenty of undesirable things are suggested all the time there’s no need to get wound up about it and call people names.

It seems like some people see others “act out” on a board like this and display really antisocial behavior… Like Anthrax, for example…. it’s like the socially equivalent of throwing a rock through a window. Nothing happens to him so other people decide it’s OK to throw a rock through a window. These are people that normally wouldn’t throw rocks through windows… Until it becomes the norm.

i’m asking you to consider toning down your language and your vitriol it doesn’t reflect well on you or anyone for that matter.

Beautiful! If these folks want to analogize, then take it all the way to a logical conclusion - which you did.

I will see you in line at the hot dog stand - mine is in the batter's box.
