For the betterment of the crew force.
Balls? Tell that to the guys who are voting with their feet and giving up years of seniority to start over somewhere else.
You wouldn’t know unity even if it smacked you in the face.

We did. Our unity was with each other and voting down the TA.
For the betterment of the crew force.

That is the disconnect with the SM.
"Running away..." sure, call it what you wish. They voted with their feet and refused to subjugate themselves to company who does not value their worth, and to half of the pilot list who don't believe their job security is worth fighting for.

the mods say we need to act like adults here, so if you’re driving in MEM tonight DO NOT go fast. You’ll want to accelerate slowly and give yourself lots of extra room for stopping.

It sounds more like they weighed the options and made a decision for themselves and their families. It probably sucked. They probably went over it a thousand times and were stressed about it. It’s hard to walk away from a job. It takes courage. Especially when it’s somewhere like FedEx where you planned to retire.

Oh I have - you should talk to our R&I guys about how safe it is. It is fairly for the company to unload the pension into a subset - yeah, congress improved the protections but not enough. Seriously...reach out to the R&I chair and ask about how the company could unload "the fund" without going into bankruptcy...or what happens to the fund if it goes into distress.....here's a hint - it's a lot worse than the market based cash balance plan. I'm sure you know that already.

Everyone argues about the pension in every thread. Truth is, its small potatoes compared to scope.
No SCOPE = CGN Gone and other lost flying
Flying lost to NO SCOPE = Overstaffed
Overstaffed = SAM reduction
SAM reduction = 4a2c
4a2c = reduced leverage
Reduced leverage = continued $hitty pay rates/bad contract entirely
It all starts with SCOPE

I wish the old guys would realize this but they don't. The short sighted with this demographic is insane. Luckily, they no longer have the votes. We have the coalition to hopefully fix section 1 for everybody's future. We are ascendant and the SM group is like the Mitch McConnel wing of the Republican party.
