Verified this from training letters and seniority list. Also figured out that, including this last class that started Monday, there are still 165 F/O seats remaining to be filled from the LAST bid that closed June 2011. The breakdown is:
Mem airbus - 23
Mem md11---42
Mem 727-----49
ANC md-11---31
CGN 757-----14
HKG airbus---6

Monday class:

1 HKG, 5 MEM MD11, 4 MEM A300, 8 727 FO, 2 727 SO.

FYI
Are the folks going to the MD11 in MEM specifically hand picked for it or is it bid on like everything else?

I know someone who received this same "possible interview" email a few weeks ago, and as of today he has heard nothing further from FedEx. Does anyone know if he could still be under consideration for a possible interview? Or is it more likely that he did not make it to the top of the pile, and by now they have already contacted everyone that they wish to invite for testing?

Other than the one guy who posted awhile back about receiving the invitation to interview a couple days after getting that letter, I haven't heard of anyone getting called. So my guess is anyone who received that letter is still under consideration, but it's just a guess. I don't know how often they're sending invites for testing, it may only be once a month. Nobody I talked to knows for sure.

I guess the new SCP did away with wanting certain folks with certain experience in the MD11?

Makes sense. Perhaps more sense, as FedEx should be able to train anyone they hire to fly the MD11 like they want them to.

Who's got time for worrying about new hire quals when there are uniforms to police and hats to wear??

So the FDA's are optional? Have there been classes where the only option was an FDA? I didn't think there was too much of a choice involved if that's all that was being offered.

Thanks...

You can not be forced into an FDA. You can be given the choice of FDA or wait until we decide to call you; but that will be when they call and tell you you are hired.
