I've been here a while at FDX and some time working in Training. I'm pretty sure that there has never been a provision whereby Pros were guaranteed an interview and I am certain that Pros have not been given seniority numbers until they were in Indoc day 1/ hour 1.
My point here is simple..... They are FedEx employees and (after whatever freeze they have...) when they apply for another job within the company (pilot, elevator operator, etc.) their applications are given priority over non-FedEx folks. That is in the People Manual which HR uses to ensure that FDX policies are adhered to in every personnel action.

I never said a PRO got a seniority # - I was just clarifying that the two year time as a pro (I described as a freeze) did not give a seniority #.
In the past, Pros were the full line interview and if hired, had a contract as PROs for three years then metered to the line (the last of these were in Jan 2011). They got seniority numbers when they went to the line.

Thanks for serving and defending the rest of us.And when "the call" comes, buy some heavy-sim time and practice the profile--no side-stick controllers here.

For those who got the material to study, one thing I took away from the AOC meeting with the DR hiring guru was that you needed to take the study material very seriously (his words were something about studying it hard for a week at least) and make sure that you are ready for the test on that material.
I don't know what the material is, or how hard it is to grasp, I just remember him saying that they were pretty disappointed that some of the candidates had obviously not put in serious effort to master the material.
For what its worth.

Thanks
Sounds like they are changing the process some, perhaps.

Nope. Day 1 consists of the Pilot knowledge exam, the cognitive skills test and the psyche eval. They will call you back for day 2 which is when you do the interview, the SBI, and finally the sim eval. It was in the DC-10 last summer. I think that's what they are still using.
