2. Black/white, male/female, mil/civ....ANYONE hired at FedEx the since 2000 (and probably well prior) has done some mind-bending testing, a rigorous sim eval, and done an interactive CRM exercise with a Kobyashi Maru type no-win scenario. I've seen some of each fail, and a bunch of each make it. The bottom line is anyone who has made it through has earned it, and they get my complete respect when I see them on the property or on the flight deck.
You left out 1000 turbine PIC....

I know the advertised min's are 1000 turbine pic but I was told you really need jet time. I don't think turbo-prop time gets you in the door any more?

1. You cannot get hired if you don't apply. Applies to anything in life. I married a Miss Mississippi finalist, flew the F-15 for years, got hired by a hometown Guard unit, and got hired by FedEx. Run the numbers on someone having that much good luck...probably incredible long odds. But I got in the game, and dang...it has been a great ride. Throw your app in, network, and hope for a turn around in the economy. Oh...BTW...some of the folks hired since 2011 didn't have sponsors, and a bunch weren't even astronauts or test pilots.
I stopped reading at the bold part. That just doesn't add up.

Can retired FedEx pilots act as a sponsor and if so, do they carry the same weight?
