I had one sponsor internally, non-pilot type.
No job fair. I was active for well over a year, not even sure when I made it active...
Amy (the other half of hiring) said when she pulls data from PC, she then is looking at who's had their applications on there for a while and stayed active.... We had a guy in our group with 2+ years as well.
Her words....
- stay in a jet, stay flying
- update at LEAST once a month
- Get some new stuff to add on there (volunteer, new responsibilities, new causes, new fun)...... She seemed to indicate volunteering might be worth more points than some others but thats just my opinion.
GOOD LUCK!!!

I understand that Delta uses it as a way to distinguish between thousands of qualified applicants. (I have had the opportunity to fly with a pilot who has never been to a day of college.......man you really can tell the difference.....would not have thought it would have made that much difference but now I see why the majors have always insisted on college.)
It is easy to take your education for granted until you fly with someone without one. Effective and efficient CRM is best performed through precise, intelligent communication and understanding. Granted 4 years is generally enough for most people to accomplish this.

Use a degree as a filter? fine, it's a filter. Expecting completion of a degree of no particular specialty to somehow produce good CRM skills and effective communicators isn't very realistic.
My guess is that you found yourself one of the "5%". His failure in CRM, communication and whatever else you found lacking was most likely because he was in the 5% - not because he failed to spend 6 figures on a diploma to fill a square for Delta.
