The general make up ability is open for Captains ( must be tied in with March awards). We need an F/O to try an input some days for March to see if it is also available. Remember to select the filters you desire. My guess is the Wolf Packers select makeup for every day and do a rolling delete as the actual day approaches. Next phase is to drop your March line or take out a short term loan to cover your lost pay. Good Luck.

It came into open time midday on Tuesday and showed that afternoon in MEM. I initially did not try for it, since it would conflict with two RDays. I contacted a couple buddies to alert them to a possible good deal. Then thought why not put in the drops for those RDays and then try for it. It worked. It was probably in open time 5 minutes after I saw it before I even put in for the trade. I have no idea if it just appeared then, or if it had been open for a while. But for me, no PMU, no already have it reserved in VIPS somehow. Simple check open time, see trip, attempt drop any conflicts, submit trip makeup. Wait, and then tell the wife you won't be home for Valentine's day.
Sometimes, it is purely how much sh.. you throw against the wall to get some to stick. No gimmicks.

I cannot speak for the FO seat but I got lucky in the CAP seat.

I guess he meant the F/O seat.

The point I'm making is dropping your entire month is not nefarious, it's easy to rebuild, and lots of guys do it. I've never, ever lost pay, and I fly trips WAY above my pay grade. Yes, I do live in Memphis.

Zpig,
Have you ever been called out for flying MORE good trips?
NO?
Then you are doing it correctly.
Start checking the charter trips (especially the ones with complete boondoggle DHs). Look at the names, and think again if it is random.
No one is saying that dropping your month and busting your ass in open time is bad, or wrong.
In fact, it is heroic.
But even you, the open time hound, are missing out on the deals.
Check your schedule. Then check the Wolf Pack's schedule.
Are you ALWAYS eating that ETS on the good trips? Trading a ****ty YMX trip for ELP might feel like a win, but it is nothing compared to what they are doing.

L. Bid Line Adjustments 1. General a.
A pilot shall have the ability to submit for a bid line adjustment through VIPS at any time during the bid period. Submissions for bid line adjustments shall be processed within each type of adjustment (e.g., PMU, make-up, open time trades, etc.) in the order in which they are received.
Any contract experts want to expand on the above? It is important to point out that make-up is listed before OT trades and the fact that "adjustments" are done in the order received.

Gents (and ladies), the title of this thread, "Wolf Pack continues with impunity", caught my eye. Did you know? Yesterday it was reported that hackers had stolen over $1 billion
from banks all over the world, we know the US DoD has been hacked, as have any number of private companies (Sony, Target, etc). Why not Fed Ex? Given the stories of computer hacking that are rampant everywhere these days, and given the $$ involved (see quote above) on a repeating basis, is it possible the WP has paid a 3rd party to hack the Fed Ex bid system for their benefit?
And, even if this isn't how the WP is gaming the system today...
What, if anything, has Fed Ex done to prevent this possibility, and if nothing, what could be added into a future contract to ensure it cannot happen? In fact, this is something all honest pilots should be concerned with IMHO.
Apologies for sounding off in a thread I have no business posting in, but I haven't seen anyone voice this possibility (not probability) as a "how" the WP is doing what it is doing. It would be interesting if Fed Ex turned into the case study that caused broader protection to all pilot groups in this regard. No one likes cheaters. HTH
