I can see how people would get furious. I'm glad this doesn't happen on the bus. Can you imagine, spending all day at the computer screen, refreshing and re-entering to get that trip. And the same people who always get the great trips did it again. That affects your quality of life. I don't think it divides us at all, I think everyone that is affected by it is united.

I honestly don't understand how they can't figure it out. They have access to every person's button clicks. I could figure it out in 5-10 minutes. For example, if these guys logged in just before it was released, and the micro-second it was released, pushed the button---inside information from a scheduler. If they were constantly refreshing like everyone else, but used OTP, then dropped or swapped to get the OTP back, OTP recycle. Get a direct answer why the charter is put in open time, then frozen. It makes me wonder, if they were giving information to people about these charters ahead of time, why would they put them in open time, frozen? Why not just hold them till their buddies were notified, and then release?

Five minutes and I could tell you. It doesn't give me much confidence in this companies technical abilities.

You all seem to think that the company "can't figure it out." Perhaps they do have it "figured out." Perhaps there are other reasons they aren't doing anything about it.

Just an observation. I don't have any Intel. I just know they could figure it, or have figured it out, if they want to.

We are all here for the money and quality of life. We should all have an equal shot with in the rules for the money and quality of life. Progress is only made when enough people get upset to effect the status quo. We need more people upset, until the union officers feel the heat nothing will change.

Why would they care?

Maybe you're right. Reading that charter missive that came out a couple of months ago, I'd assumed they were still working on it. Maybe not, then. If they are knowingly allowing some funny business, that would be a serious grievance.

If they actually want specific people to fly charters, I wonder why they don't just hire people into a charter group, like flight test. Probably because they'd have to negotiate it.

I think management gets a kick out the frustration it causes the rest of us. Anything that causes conflict and division in the pilot group they're all for it. If it doesn't benefit them to fix it ($$$), why would they bother?

In this case it is about 2 things. One being who you are, where you came from check them out and they all have those 2 things in common. The second is who you know "friends with" someone who is moving on soon. Hopefully the next sheriff will stop this.

BTW
This seems to be a clear violation of the corporate code of ethics video i just had to watch for reccurent training by both those doing it and those in management not stopping it. We are talking issues affecting peoples pay here.

This also puts their mentors in a very bad light. No integrity on their part.
