A very tiny minority of them are. Sorry about butting into a FDX thread but this issue affects us too and we (ups) are actively pursuing 117. It might or it might not happen but at the recent gmm meeting our president debunked what he called many myths about 117, such as our schedules becoming uncommutable, etc., etc...several of our nay sayers were very surprised when he showed them several examples of how much better 117 would've been on a typical night hauler schedule.. Not perfect but better. He also said that they've compared typical bid packets at several airlines and supposedly the vast majority of fdx schedules are already 117 compliant whereas here we aren't even close.

..back to the 24 in 7 question..

Pre cell phone days with a stupid beeper always on you and 15 minutes to call CRS when the thing went off in the grocery store, movie, driving down the road. If memory serves me, it took the FAA to fix that heinous reserve system. Things can always be improved but wow, we were really at the end of the whip back then.
Yes, I do. I don't remember any of my friends at the Majors living under that crap. One of the few good FAA rulings in our favor. That old system sucked. And I don't think there was even a one hr show, it was just get here now.

My favorite was when the beeper went off and you called back and were put on hold. I waited 15 minutes on hold once, got tired of waiting, hung up and then called them back. Amos answered the phone and his first statement was "where have you been, we have been trying to get a hold of you."
